Pantsless Pancake Selfie (nudity)

Sometimes an image wanders into my mind that I just need to get down in scribbly-sketch form before.  This time around its Cindy (Cinders) in her modern day incarnation taking a selfie to send along to her husband.

She's clearly proud of the pancake breakfast she's made.  She's also found  her favorite nook to eat them in.

Pants aren't required.

But Pancakes!  Everyone loves pancakes!  Her stallion likes pancakes as well.

The angle of this image was doing my head in and I ended up just modeling out a pose-doll to figure out the basic angle to throw some shapes down onto.  Some days your brain absolutely fails at figuring out the right angle I guess o.o

But still.

Pancakes!

It's definitely shaved off an hour or three off of my obsessing over getting the figure in the right perspective. I usually only use the figure-mannequins for practicing hands but I'm finding this might let me practice out full figures at different angles than I usually draw.

It could be! While Felwroth doesn't have cell-phones for selfies, there are scrying objects and crystals that can be used in the same way (Not all of them have to be in the hands of crotchety old wizards ;). Either way, hooray for pancakes!

It was a difficult one to get framed at the right angle that I had in my head. I kept either getting her head cut off by the top of the frame, or the arm holding the camera was too short. The drawing mannequins in CSP cut down hours of me obsessing trying to get the figure at the right angle. It cannot help me draw pancakes though ;)

Its the one that comes with Clip Studio Paint. They have a bunch of types included but I like the grey, featureless one since it shows a basic mesh that i can use to figure out angles of features on a human-ish form.

No shame in the tools. That would be a difficult pose with all the foreshortening.

Now I want to know what kind of posing doll you have.

Tis a shame she's married. I'm so hungry for pancakes. Tho concentrating on them would be difficult.

Who doesn't like pantless pancakes. (I also like bottomless pancakes too, but that means something different I hear. . . silly.) Love the pose and set up. I think you did well. Honestly, for a second, I thought it was an "after shot" from the dancing picture. lol.

There's absolutely no shame in pose reference. I never understood folks who criticize it; pretty much every art master over the centuries worked from live models, and mannequins have been a common sight in art studios for nearly as long. No need to apologize for it; these are legitimate tools, and it's perfectly acceptable to use them. Beautiful work as ever, such a lovely smile and such a dramatic angle! Come home soon, Captain Bert. There are...um, pancakes waiting. :)
