Palm Summer Tribe (Inks) - May 8th.

Sunlight finally hit our part of the world, cutting through two and a half extra weeks of tenebrous greys and snowy drizzle.  I've finally been able to burn off some of the winter pallor from my Canadian canvas and wanted to make this picture the painting for the month.

Kai (the Laontran 'tattooist') is good at arguing why a reixos would dance divinely at the festival of fire and sun.  Cerenon is doubtful.  Worried his sheer size among a largely small people would be akin to a mountain dancing amidst trees.

More and more I'm drawn to tattoo's of the Maori and the isles.  Its a kaleidoscopic array of patterns and cultures swirling towards an iconic center.  While the dyes on Kai and Cer will fade, sometimes the people of the isles have a 'renewing' night where dyes are re-traced and applied, often doubling to solidify family and friendships alike.

Qiuloa are islands created as a place I just want to be as often as possible.  Lazy enough to let one live if they're willing to fish, and sane enough where stress is low.

they have _amazing_ barbecues.

This has to be the worse commenting system I deal with.

They can move more gracefully than one might think. Though in Cerenon's case he's a type of martial artist, so he cheats a little :D

Dancing equines. I oft wonder what the Dancers of my Centaurs look like.

I messaged you over on Twitter. Seems I cannot upload images in line here! :(

Some of the design work is really amazing. I've always envied folks that can do really intricate symmetry like that. I can't say I blame you. I don't have any tatt's myself (yet?). I'd likely go with a Celtic design in some small scale. Which design did you go with again? I remember you sending along some examples at one point.

The tattoo traditions of Polynesia are amazing and very much an inspiration for many, myself included. My own tattoos have a touch of their influence in the design. :)
