This is my second attempt at typing this up, since I hit the back-button before I posted. It's a derpy Friday for me.
Comic
It surprised me how much work really goes into a comic when you are the only person working on it. While bigger studios and some independent comic producers might have several people working on a title (pencillers, inkers, colourists, letterers, writers) doing it all yourself proves to be a pretty involved process.
Its a process of learning, for sure, and one I'm enjoying. Everything from learning ways to do colours that aren't as taxing on time as painting a full image, to more obscure things like learning about when to serif certain letters in dialogue. Hell, I even learned about the murky world of font copyrights. Luckily Blambot puts out many fonts that are free to use by anyone but the big studios as well as their regular line of paid fonts.
I've found a middle ground aesthetically. While I prefer to work images to a more painted finish, I can't do that with this title, so I've adopted a four step process instead of the zillions that I usually do.
I've also finally come up with a tentative title for this series. I found it shocking just how many titles are taken, and how hard it is to make a title that doesn't sound too derivative to another. This one, for now, will be called 'Tides of Natu'loa'. The cover is being worked on, and if the title sticks.. welp, that'll be it!
Have a good weekend, folks
