Weekly Update - number 11

Comic Page 1

For this week, I've finally finished the first page of the comic (name still in flux).  It had originally taken longer than I would have liked, though given that this is such a different process than what I'm used to it took a bit of time to learn.  Everything from standard sizing for comic pages, to the correct way to letter things, to the colour process, and even learning 'the economy of lines' way of doing things, trying to hold back on over-detailing things with ink since much of the final result would disappear with doing colours anyway.

Hell, I even learned something about gradient maps.  Something I didn't realize even existed!  

In the end, I found a happy medium that I like.  Not too painterly, but not just flat colour either.  It lends itself to enough variety without me going overboard painting everything in.

This is a bit of a big step for me.  As I've mentioned, it's something I've wanted to do for the longest time, but never really had the nerve.  It's intimidating and a learning experience, but step one has been taken, and offered here for folks at 150dpi.

Additions to Tiers

I've finally gone ahead and revised the tiers for patrons.  I've included the fact that all tiers get to see the comic well more than a couple months in advanced, and at full size without any watermarking.  I've also added in the discount per $5 and $10 tiers (10% and 15%) off of commissions in the future.  There may be more additions down the line, but I'm still working those details out.

I'm going to look into doing printwork perhaps.  Right now it's slightly prohibitive as I live in Canada, which means shipping anything south of the border requires extra cost.  I'm still looking into options, though.

More coming in the next week, including a painting and sketchwork.
