Dating app [prologue]

I recently finished a relationship of five years with my now toxic ex-girlfriend, I suffered enough already and I need to be able to walk greener paths and enjoy my single life, she took advantage of me in many ways and whenever she had time to spare, she decided to spend it humiliating me for my foot fetish, she made me feel like if I was not enough for this world and a complete freak of nature, but I won’t let her years of torment pull me down, I know I’m enough and honestly too much for her sorry ass, she never deserved someone as loving and caring like me.

Anyways i downloaded a new trendy dating app that supposedly allows you to make the best matches according to your selected preferences, so I created a new profile and put on my personal info without hesitation. In hobbies I added my love for video games (a wide range of game genres to be frank; horror, rhythm, puzzle, RTS, RPG, hack & slash, adventure, board, fighting, FPS, Xgames and racing games), sports (anything but soccer), cycling, Art (I’m something of an artist myself) and photography.

I had to add a small presentation too.

Okay I hope this bio doesn’t make me look bad, I was as honest as it was humanely possible. So the last step is to add things I like/love so hmmm… I’ll do this as it should be

It’s a bit embarrassing to say that out loud but I don’t want to start a new relationship based on lies, those are literally my kinks, so If girls like it or not, then there’s nothing I can do.

Okay that would be the last part, so I uploaded a few pictures of me and I uploaded my profile, so I just gotta wait until someone likes my profile. While I waited for that to happen I decided to get to know the application better, I saw a few profiles and gave a few likes when I saw someone interesting, but neither of those ended up on a match. After a while i realized it was already five PM so I put the phone down to get a few things done at my place, I tidied the living room and I threw the last remaining stuff that made me remember my toxic relationship, not even five minutes later I get a notification and I decided to look at the phone, it was from the dating app, I clicked on the notification and saw that someone gave a like to my profile, I looked at her profile and she was actually pretty cute, I gave her a like back and we got a match, thus unlocking the chat room, she was the first one to talk and she was actually quite direct. I suddenly remembered how long I’ve been out of the dating game so I got nervous.

Ashley: hey, my name is Ashley and I found your profile pretty interesting, it’s a boomer you had to go through that toxic relationship, but thankfully you’re now out of it and you’re able to finally pick up your pieces and go on with your life.

Kyle: Hello, I’m Kyle and thank you a lot for those kind words.

Ashley: No prob cutie~.

Kyle: Hehe! I did find you profile pretty interesting too.

Ashley: So… anyways, are you busy tonight?? ;).

It took me a whole second to answer, she went straight to the point, but I’m not scared, just surprised.

Kyle: yeah, I’m free.

Ashley: I thought I almost lost you there hehe~.

Ashley: Sorry if was too straight forward for you, I hope I didn’t scare ya’.

Kyle: Nono, it’s totally fine, I just kinda lost my touch with this dating thingy hehehe ^ u^’.

I told her about a nice restaurant we could go to eat dinner, she loved the idea and told me we can pay 50/50.

Kyle: That’s okay by me.

Ashley: Good, I’ll see you in a few cutie, I’ll go get ready for now.

…

We said our goodbyes for now and logged out for the rest of the evening. I’m actually quite excited and I’m looking forward for my first date in five years.
