Toph Heavy Part 3 - Page 14 - Final

I may come back to this to clean it up a bit. I'm not sure if the... form shadow is too... mushy in some places. I mean, I want certain areas to be very soft, obviously, but I don't want to turn it to mud.

While I’m no art critic, I think you strike a good balance. Parts are well-lit, with a consistent main light source throughout (i.e. shadows and highlights are consistent and “look right”), and have corresponding well-defined shadow areas (e.g. Toph’s cheek and chin have a shadow that’s properly crisp, since the shadowed area, her neck/shoulder, is very close, as well as the fact that a jawline is, by nature’s standards, quite straight, and produces a corresponding shadow that’s relatively stark—you have a well-lit area, right next to a shadowed one, as it should be.), while other areas, which are curved and as such produce much more gradual shadows IRL, are also shaded gradually. While it’s definitely sensible to be diligent about the quality and consistency of your work, and practically universal to be hard on yourself, I think you’re doing great. I bet if I compared one of these with a ~2020 pin-up or Toph Heavy 1 there’d be a noticeable improvement. Don’t get complacent, but *try* not to worry so much.
