We Are Back: Kids from the Future (Second Gate)

Do you want to ride the movies but not give the owners' of said movies any money? Then go to Movieland Park in Lake Garda, Italy! A place where knock-offs reign and copyright law is aggressively ignored!

In 2024, Movieland debuted yet another glorious bootleg ride entitled----"We Are Back: Kids from the Future." This ride appears to share some details/plot devices/characters/fonts with a famous time-travel franchise. You'll have to listen and see if you can figure out which one!

When you asked why Universal hasn’t taken down movieland yet i am reminded of when Jackie Gleason was asked why he doesn’t sue the Flintstones and he said something along the lines of he didn’t want to be the one to destroy something people so obviously love. What if universal knows how much you want to try a Dakota stick and benevolently keeps their mouth shut

My TM mantra is “America’s Favorite Sweetheart is Hollywood’s Biggest Star!”

The mafia bit is beyond hilarious

To add to the debate of whether this is officially licensed or not: I had a meeting recently at a ride/experience design firm that does creative work for the Universal parks and when this Italian offshoot came up and they swore it was officially licensed in some capacity from Uni…

Creepy dick tugging children took me out

Why does Jason’s Italian mobster accent sound like Benoit Blanc 😂

I mentioned this in the FB group, too, but the Movieland episode from 2020 has a reference to Madame and Wayland Flowers about 32 minutes in. From SCOTT. Is that the first reference? Did Scott bring this into being?

Josh Austin

The child actor that played Verne was actually a young, time traveling John Lasseter.

The moment in the video where Jessy and Zack appear immediately brought two thoughts to mind: 1. The moment is clearly trying to recreate the T2:3D preshow moment where Sarah and John hack the feed, making this a ripoff of at least two defunct Universal attractions, and 2. The phrasing of “We are Jules and Verne Brown’s children” REALLY makes it sound like Lorraine going after Marty wasn’t the only piece of incest in this franchise.

David Ganssle

In case I missed it in that POV video, I was disappointed by the lack of penis pointing by the adult Jules and/or Vern. Because of that, I strongly question the canon status of this attraction.

Michael Jacobson

If George and Lorraine fuck at the wrong time in the 60’s, it creates Eric Stoltz Marty

The time travel in Indy 5 was the best part imo. A broken man who studies ancient history comes face to face with that history and would rather die there than return to his own time where his life has fallen apart. A lot more interesting than the mediocre CGI-heavy action in the rest of the movie.

This is like The Umbrella Academy meets Bill & Ted 😅

Kate Shoop

I have no idea how it gets away with it as the EU and U.S. co-operate on copyright and IP…🤷🏻‍♂️

I am listening to this on the way to work and will probably have to pull over a couple times from laughing

Movieland is an incredible park. I’m sure their “backlot tour” ride is safe but it has moments of legitimate peril. I still remember my poor wife grabbing hold of me because she was convinced I would fall out of the truck at one point. Can’t wait to go back one day.
