Champion’s Trident

Weapon (trident), uncommon (requires attunement)

This iron and gold trident is perfectly balanced and lighter than it looks. When you roll a 20 on an attack roll made with this magic weapon, it gains 1 charge. As a bonus action, you can expend a charge to gain a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this weapon for 1 minute. This effect is not cumulative, and all charges are lost at the end of a long rest.

You gain a +1 bonus to Performance and Intimidation checks made while wielding this trident.

Of all the weapons used in the gladiator’s arena, the trident was the most difficult to master and the most devastating in the hands of a skilled warrior. The champion Vincenzi Aurelius used his golden trident in the same way an artist used a brush, painting the bodies of his opponents in bright red splashes for the entertainment of the crowd. The thunderous roar of the arena could be heard for miles in every direction every time he raised the shimmering trident above his head in victory.
