This unholy book is bound in leather made from human skin and smells faintly of brimstone. Its cover is carved with strange occult symbols. A bronze clasp holds it shut, but its lock is broken. This book has 6 charges and regains 1d4 + 1 charges at midnight. If you expend the last charge, roll a d20. On a 1, a swarm of rats consumes and destroys the book, then attacks the nearest creature. While holding the book, you can use an action to expend some of its charges to cast one of the following spells from it, requiring no components: augury (2 charges), tongues (3 charges), commune (3 charges), or planar ally (5 charges). This book may only be used to contact or summon evil-aligned beings.
