The Fundamentals Of Alternate Picking (Pt.2: String Transitions)
Added 2025-05-30 20:05:36 +0000 UTCOut of all of the core guitar techniques, alternate picking is by far the most nuanced and difficult to master. Being able to obtain strong, consistent, clean alternate picking is a goal that the majority of guitarists strive for and spend countless years pursuing - and what better time to start your journey than now!
After covering all the basics in pt.1 we're moving on to the next logical topic - the dreaded string transitions! Alternate picking is not much of a challenge when playing on a single string, but as soon as you start including string changes in your runs then the difficulty increases exponentially. So in this lesson we'll be going over pick-slanting and inside vs. outside picking, which should give you all the knowledge you need to start conquering those pesky transitions.
Good luck and don't forget to share your progress with everyone in the Discord server!
