Jim Starlin's Grand Space Opera

Hello everyone!

This week it looks like I'll be doing a remake about Jim Starlin's Metamorphosis Odyssey, tracking it's beginning and evolution from an ongoing feature in Epic Illustrated, to it's transitional phase of stand-alone graphic novels and into its Dreadstar series for Epic Comics then First Comics. I'm probably not going to get too deep into Dreadstar. That may be something I expand upon in a later video. This video will be more focused on the beginnings of the series, it's themes and characters and Starlin's intentions.

As I said, this was a video I did a long time ago and deleted because I thought it was pretty bad. So, I've completely rewritten the script and added a lot more to it. I'm still fine-tuning it, but I'm pretty sure it's what I'll put out this week.

If I can, I might try to get a video about Melmoth done too. That's a short one, but necessary to do before concluding the series of videos about Cerebus. It's going to be a busy week!

I think it would be great, though I’m only the voice of a single Patron. Thanks for the reply.

That's a good question. It is feasible, since I choose/edit the graphics myself. So it's simply a matter of not censoring the images. It's something I will think about, for sure. It may be worthwhile as not only a benefit for everyone here, but it will allow me to discuss topics without having to carefully dance around what I'm saying or ensure the images are "advertiser friendly."

Do you think offering an uncensored version of your videos exclusive to Patreon would be beneficial an/or feasible?

Zackery Parkerson

I will look at it for sure. Depending on how different it is from the original Devil By The Deed will determine whether I do a video about it.

Are you intending on covering the Grendel Devil by the Deed Master Edition

Really looking forward to the video on the Metamorphosis Odyssey. I am big Jim Starlin fan. I became a fan after I read his runs on Captain Marvel and Warlock from the 1970s. The Metamorphosis Odyssey is arguably the best part of the Dreadstar series. What came after was a bit of mixed bag. The ongoing series started to loose its way by issue 31. But picked up after Peter David took over the series with issue 41. I really enjoyed the lateste video on 1st Issue Special from DC. There was some stuff I never heard off. Like Green Team and Dingbats.
