Chicago's Most Violent Neighbourhod [UNCUT]

In this video I dig deep into the history of Chicago's Most Violent Neighbourhood: West Garfield Park. Many people have debated which part of Chicago is the most dangerous, the South side or the West side. While the South has gained a notorious reputation from the many Drill rappers that emerged from there, the truth is the West is arguably the most dangerous part of the city. This video will explore the history of that part of the city, some of the gangs and rappers that have emerged from there, and the people fighting to improve things in this suffering community. I hope you enjoy this short video. I will be doing more of these going forward. The next full length documentary is coming soon!

Chicago's Most Violent Neighbourhod [UNCUT]

Comments

The west side is the Chicagoland area’s drug market. There’s an expressway running right through the middle of it, making it easy for people from the suburbs to drive in to buy drugs. It’s damn near the drug capital of the Midwest.

Dan Solo Chicago

Going to this part of the city to do business never shook me up surprisingly. Maxwells is right when you get off 290 at independence and then a BP a little further down the street that always looks super sketch. I needed to get gas there once but it was day time. Never would I anytime after sundown. K Town is scary as fuck to me though.

Love this one

Alex Wolf

😂, same ! 54 year old “paw paw” with kids and grandkids saying all the same! Crazy content! Keeps Me watching and quoting all this to my grandkids and kids! 🤣💯

Big mike

Why wasn’t lud foe even mentioned. I know he wasn’t really in the streets like that but he was definitely one of the best rappers to come out of the west side

Cory Renaud

The quality of your content is unmatched 🔥❤️🔥

Josh Rodriguez

Dude, great stuff , this angle works really nicely

J. Burns

You should do a video on East St Louis, Illinois.

I watch a lot of your videos and I just joined your patreon because the shit being blurred out on YouTube was annoying the fuck outta me. But I haven’t watched this video I’m just casually scrolling through peeking at each one. I didn’t think there was a specific video to say this so I landed on this one but what I’m trying to say is that 1. You’re one of the best YouTubers and film makers around and 2. You could really have a deeper calling like politics. I think you would be an amazing politician in any country. These videos mean something deeper and all the research and digging you do I feel like you have had to at least think or dabble with solutions. You would make an excellent politician and an even better film maker. If you get into films tho hit me man I wanna star in one, FORREAL. Peace and love to ya Ross you’re a good man.

Noenglish

What a great documentary Ross. I like the anti violence angle. It shows a human side of the story. This is one of your best.

Dustin Keyes

You should do a video on 051 Young Money

Corey Robinson

You should do a video on fbg butta and lil jay case they been doing interviews on it so long all the info is there

Ian Kennedy

You're right man. It really is sad to see. Children killing each other and then dissing the dead children in songs. You got kids running around Chicago that aren't even old enough to legally drive but have committed multiple homicides on other children or young men that live just a couple blocks away from them and grew up just as rough as they did. There's literally a mural of a serial killer outside O Block (King Von). They don't have a mural for a kid that grew up there and stayed away from crime, worked hard to take his family out of the hood and owns a good legitimate business now. Instead they make a mural of a guy who caused nothing but death and destruction until his dying breath. There's no accountability either, the black community embraces this as black culture and it's heartbreaking. So many children and young men that could've done amazing things in this world instead are dead before they even knew how precious life really is. The cycle just repeats itself too, for example Von and Duck grew up without a father present and their children will too.

deep shit fr the street crazy rn off this Skagg out here now shit bugged out fr

Clay Face

I feel bad for the black race right now. Y’all are enslaved still. Not to us whites but to yourselves and the hip hop/ gangster culture. When I saw it become cool to have bodies, I knew it was over for the race for a while. This has caused generational damages. Kids without parents, parents without kids etc. And the entire Chiraq culture has spread like wildfire across the us and even other countries. I’m white and it ain’t my place to talk but it’s sad af to see.

Joshua Williams

I’m a 65 yr old white women and was never interested in these videos until I ran across Trap Lore Ross. Now I can’t get enough. I’m addicted to them and my grown grandchildren think I’m crazy. Lol. Thank you for these videos

Peggy Britt

I wish there was more self accountability in these dangerous areas. Blaming a lack of opportunity can only go so far.

Jay Matusek

I am saying blaming everything but your own actions is woke. You very insecure.

Jay Green

Well it's interesting that Trump's lawyer and the man who took on the Mob in New York pretty much invented the idea of broken window policy in cleaning the community. Are you saying Rudolph Juliani is woke? Or are you just one of them social political parrots who throws around terms like Woke and what not like you have Tourette's, not even understanding etymology of what you are yapping on about, puppy..

CZA

I think if more of these gangbangers . It would be a net win for the neighborhood personally.

John the seeker

Bruh that apartment complex has less space than my house lol

Bathroom Sign

and people still gonna say he only covers black death and violence…fire video TLR

Herb Kushner

Do a Documentary on Washington DC

Omar Bellamy-Jones

Everyone complaining about how short the video is but complain when you take time to make a long video 💀 mf can never be happy with wtf you give us I swear. Everyone needs to be more appreciative of the fact that he even takes time out of his day to make us these videos

Angel Perez

Lo of comments saying people want this to be 3 hours plus. I think this is the perfect length for a video where theres minimal music involved. I did kind of feel like the video was just getting started when it ended, but without rappers to discuss and deep dive on it's just going to turn into a longgggg news report on violence.

Nick Napolitano

I just went and watched that. Idk he got stood over - it's really amazing that he didn't die immediately. Too bad we'll never know if medical attention could've helped.

Nick Napolitano

I think broski should chill on the No Jumper merch and all that but he's made his feelings clear.

Nick Napolitano

23 minutes? Old Trap Lore making an appearance.

Nick Napolitano

this was wayyyy too short

Terry Watkins

thanks for the video, been waiting all month. when is your next full video coming?

Devon Mcmahon

Thanks!! Great doco. I hope they find some level of even lessening violence too. Your work really helps with my ptsd symptoms, so I deeply appreciate it when you drop, not that re-watching your other work doesn't also help :)

Frank Vegas

I don't entirely buy the whole idea that it's entirely tied to economics like the guy in the community says at the end of the video. There is a huge culture problem that contributes to it as well. There's no way that this is common in every major area of the entire USA and that it's entirely tied to being poor. People don't want to work when they can make easy money, the music tells them all working a 9-5 is for bums, they make that gangster lifestyle look glamorous with money, cars, girls and all that. It's a much bigger problem than just not having money and until people can look in the mirror and accept that the culture they're a part of is a huge contributing factor to why these communities are so violent then it'll just keep continuing.

Brandon C

i need a 4hr version of this

I find it funny how some people call him a culture vulture. Meanwhile there are African American people who make videos about metal bands and the music and nobody including myself seem to have a problem. To me that's just a dumb term people try to put on journalists they don't like

Brandon

What a way to start the morning
