I accidentally went off grid for 6 days & it's exactly what I needed

Woops! It's been a hot minute, but I'm back. I had every intention of sticking to my regular posting schedule on Patreon, but alas, there was no reception!

So what have I been up to?

6 days ago, we packed up our home on wheels and took Johnny (our vans new name) off road for the first time. We drove 3 hours into the mountains to attend a yearly highline gathering where I got to hang out with some of the coolest people I have ever met!

I highlined, I did cliff side yoga, I ate delicious food, I explored, I hung out with cool people, and I bush doofed. (Check out my stories on IG for all the non-noodie upates)

I have spent the majority of my adult life convincing myself that I didn't need a community, that I was better off alone. I never felt like I truly fit in. But as much as this may be our narrative, it's far from true. Living disconnected lives goes against our human nature, and some argue that without a community, we can't truly be happy.

But over this past week, with nothing but human connection, I felt a part of something bigger than myself, bigger than the daily chaos inside my head. I felt like I belonged. I looked around me, and I saw strong, confident women who didn't shave their bodies and who wore clothing that best expressed their mood that day. I saw men who didn't objectify the women around them and who showed their vulnerabilities willingly.

I felt more seen than I have in a long time. More loved and more present than I had been in years.

This was my community.

We forget sometimes but as soon as we disconnect it's like, shit.. this is exactly what i needed!

Sounds like an amazing time. Sometimes disconnecting is what you need.

Our entire lives are on our phones and we spend hours a day on the internet. It's definitely a shake up not having access to electronics but it's always a positive!

I'm glad you had a good time ..some can't handle getting disconnected from the electronics for to long they have lived with it for so long it rattles them
