Before I could even make it to the third-floor stairs, Yao Wei came up from the living room to the second floor. Seeing me, she immediately rushed over, grabbed my arm, and said, "Xiao Bin, come here. I need to talk to you about something."
She pulled me toward another corridor. The butler, Max, was very tactful; he simply bowed to us and quickly hurried down the stairs.
"What are you doing!" I grumbled as she pulled me into a room.
This room seemed to be a study as well. Its overall layout was somewhat similar to the one belonging to Yao Shuanglei from before, but there weren't many books here, and the large desk in the center was very tidy, looking as if it hadn't been used much recently.
Yao Wei turned around, closed the door and holding my hand, asked nervously, "What did my father want with you?"
"Nothing much, just some ordinary questions. He also asked if I knew where my dad had gone, and I said I didn't know." I answered with a shrug.
"That's all? Then why was he being so mysterious about it?" Yao Wei asked, puzzled.
"How would I know?" I said irritably. I already harbored a grudge against her father, and I had even less patience to discuss him with her..
