Chapter 22

Chapter 22

"Don't look so unhappy! What's the big deal about having dinner at my house!" A voice sounded in my ear.

"I'm not unhappy. Just focus on your driving," I said lazily.

The pink convertible BMW sped down the main road. I sat in the passenger seat, watching the street scenery recede, the rushing wind tousling my hair.

"You are unhappy. I've told you so many times, my mom and dad want to see you too. Just come once, why be so reluctant? Making me ask you over and over again. Don't you think you're being annoying?"

Yao Wei said reproachfully as she drove.

Yesterday, she told me her parents were hosting a family dinner tonight. Then, for some reason, the girl got it into her head to invite me along, and her parents insisted I come.

To be honest, I didn't have a good impression of anyone in the Yao family besides Yao Wei, and I especially didn't want to see her father. But Yao Wei insisted so much that I had no choice and was dragged along.

"I'm actually really happy. We haven't seen each other for so many days. Did you miss me?" Seeing her pouting with a displeased look, I had no choice but to force a flattering smile.

"I didn't miss you!" Yao Wei retorted, but a charming smile bloomed on her beautiful face.

At the villa entrance, I saw Yao Liang standing there waiting for us. Yao Wei said in a loud, cheerful voice, "Look who's on time today. Didn't go out roaming today? Mom will be thrilled to see her unfilial son actually come home."

"Tch." Yao Liang looked like he couldn't be bothered with her. He saw me walking behind her and asked with a puzzled expression, "Xiao Bin came too?"

I said, "It was on the way, so it saved me the trouble of getting a taxi."

He looked completely healed.

Yao Wei laughed, "That's right. It's a shame you and I weren't on the same route little brother, or I would have picked you up too."

"I don't need a ride from you," Yao Liang said grumpily.
