Chapter 1

The happy summer vacation was over, and it was time for the new school year. In the south of the Hua Empire, the weather was still scorching, but fortunately, this was a major coastal metropolis, so it wasn't too humid.

Stepping onto campus, there were many new, energetic faces.

"Hey! Senior, could you tell me how to get to the Guidance Center?"

Zuo Hanyan was sending a WeChat message to his girlfriend when he felt someone approach him. He looked up and saw a guy, still on his phone, asking him for directions.

"Talk later, I have to go check in. Hanging up." The guy hung up the phone.

This guy was of medium height, with a stout build, dark-yellow skin, and very short hair. He was carrying a large backpack.

He looked like a new student heading to the Guidance Center to register.

Zuo Hanyan replied, "Oh, I'm heading there too. Just follow me."

The guy nodded. "Okay, thanks, thank you! Are you a new freshman too, senior?"

The guy smiled, his eyes narrowing into small slits.

Zuo Hanyan said, "Not exactly. I'm a sophomore. In a bit, some student council officers and volunteers will be there to welcome you new students. I'm just one of the volunteers, so it's on my way."

"In that case, sorry to trouble you, senior." The guy continued to thank him politely.

Zuo Hanyan nodded in acknowledgment.

After walking a bit further, the guy struck up another conversation: "S University has a lot of beauties, huh, heh heh... right, senior?"

The guy said, "Haha, true that. You're really handsome, senior. If I were as handsome as you, picking up girls would be a piece of cake."

They chatted casually all the way to the university's Guidance Center building. They entered through a door into a vast hall, where the annual graduate recruitment and new student receptions were held.

Zuo Hanyan led the guy to the back of a line and had him queue up, then walked to the service desk at the front of the line, where he saw the beautiful woman he loved.
