Alfie was the rat he says it himself it wasnt anyone in the family which highlights the disillusion when tommy loses his child

He's so intense and is right in pointing out that both he and Tommy have butchered/killed sons and fathers, so it's hypocritical for Tommy to tell him he crossed a line. At the same time though, Alfie is hypocritical for claiming that an 'honourable reason' is needed to pull the trigger, when what he did to Tommy was completely dishonourable (and neither of them are exactly honourable people).
