Let's Get Down to Business! BTS #62
Added 2020-03-05 21:25:43 +0000 UTCWhat up, mini family?! I've been a busy beaver lately. Tomorrow there's a video about freehanding coming out that some of you are likely aware of. I freehanded this little banner from a model I 3D printed.

As a last minute edition, I was able to get Richard Grey to add some advice to my freehanding video! So, I re-edited the video an am reuploading it right now.

The early release video tomorrow is something that I've been thinking about for a while. I explore the concept of the midtone as it relates to layering, and the color white and black. Basically, I have a theory that will hopefully make painting white and black conceptually simpler. To demonstrate white and black I painted up this model:

The shorts/belts are black and the skintone was supposed to be white. I think it reads as light pink as opposed to white, what do you think?
I also at some point edited a funny collaboration for the Squidmar youtube channel all about airbrushing, you can see it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TVviMQFr8gM

I also filmed a short skit for the Miniwargaming channel. Dave from MWG has quite the interest in narrative shorts related to the hobby, so he gave me some direction and I put together something for him. I'm not sure when it'll appear on his channel but here's a still from it:

So Adepticon is quickly approaching and I haven't painted anything for any competitions for it yet. My plan is to finish all my videos for March and work on my entry for Golden Demon full time until the con. I have a few videos being worked on simultaneously. One is a "back-log off" with Squidmar where we compare who has more unpainted miniatures, another is a Biopic about Roman Lappat, another is one I mentioned earlier about getting crispy resin prints for your 3D printer, and the last one is the one about painting white and black. Between today and tomorrow I hope to finish them off, but we'll see how it goes! That's all for now.
PAINT MORE MINIS!
