An update on tiers

Hey all, I hope you are all doing well! I wanted to do a post here to just let you all know I have to make some changes to the Patreon tiers starting in February.

I really didn't want to as they've basically been the same since I started this Patreon back in my old house in a tiny little room where I could hardly even open the door to get into my desk and Patreon was keeping me afloat. I am always amazed the support I've gotten from then to now, and it's frankly amazing we've gotten to the point that I am getting so much support from you all that I need to swap things around.

I made this Patreon when I first started YouTube again, I used to have single digits of Patreon supporters and it has grown and grown since then. When I made the rewards, I never expected it to be even a fraction of what it is now. As I've been adding more and more names to the lists, it doesn't feel like I am delivering on the "Rewards" which I think of more like a thank you to all the people who have gone out of their way to support me. The verbal shoutouts are getting exceptionally long and I must rotate them every week to make sure I thank everyone which means I end up thanking everyone just 4-5 times a month. The current credits that I burn into the end of my videos are getting too small. The description is so full, I have to split it into two and rotate it so that everyone is in half of the descriptions a month. I hope this doesn't come across as negative because in reality it's a mind-blowing thing that people have been so supportive of me that it's actually filling up each reward.

Since I do not want to add higher tiers, I think that it would be best if we removed the 5 dollar supporter tier. The 10 dollar supporter tier would then be credited in the description and the 20 dollar supporters would be credited in rolling credits at the end of the video. (I have a basic idea of what I want to do attached to this post so you can see what I mean). Everything else would remain the same, I will be doing the monthly chill streams (Hoping to do one tomorrow!) and everyone here is welcome to join them. I hope you do as they are a blast! It’s very nice to be able to have a chill chat with you all.

As I mentioned above, I have always thought of the rewards as more of a thank you for supporting me and what I do. I hope that comes across. It’s heartwarming to have so many people be so damn supportive, but I also just want to remind people that I am now in a place where I am comfortable financially and if you need the money at all I would much rather you look after yourself. Especially nowadays more than ever. I hope this change is not disappointing for anyone or coming across as unappreciative as I really am so thankful for all the support I've received here and I'm always aware of the fact that if it wasn't for this Patreon I likely would not be making videos today as it would not have been financially possible for me.

Regarding the $5 tier: From my understanding of the process, I will delete the $5 tier (likely tomorrow after the stream) but Patreon doesn't cancel your pledge and you will remain a patron at whatever amount you have previously pledged.  If you missed this post after you continued your pledge without realizing the reward was changed just shoot me a PM and I will refund you, last thing I want is to catch anyone out with the changes. That goes for the other tiers too if you didn't realize there was a change and you are unhappy with it.

As always thank you all for all the support, it means a lot to me that there are people out there that appreciate me to the point they’d support me this much. Not only with the pledges but also just being so friendly and kind towards me. I do not know what I would have done without it.
