In all the time Y/N has known Peter he was either positively bashful and awkward adorkable guy or a confident and mischievous perv. Rarely has Y/N ever seen him truly sad. Mad? Annoyed? Irritated? Disgruntled?? Disappointed??? Sure, but never truly 'sad-sad'... Even moreso, around Y/N... As egotistical as it sounds, Peter always seemed to light up emmensely whenever Y/N was in his line of sight. So, to see him so... Depressed was a little more than disheartening to say the least. As Y/N watched Peter for a few seconds longer- feeling their heart weigh bit by bit at his slow movements and downturned expression- while smoking, Y/N hummed thoughtfully... Rubbing their chin and nibbling on their lip as a few ideas of sorts came to mind. Quietly vacating the room Y/N quickly got to work stripping down in "their" room with a slight blush. Swallowing their pride Y/N grabed the paint brush and some paint, quickly getting to work with some untapped speed and precision. Y/N painted a cute (if not a little amusing) "Happy New Year!!" across the front of their body. With an excited yet nervous chuckle Y/N struggled to -at the very least- paint some of their back side and legs with firework like designs. It wasn't perfect but Y/N was sure Peter would appreciate the effort anyways. Taking some hidden New Years sweets from their room, Y/N tied the sweet treats with a string around their waist then placed an oversized New Years hat on their head, funny 2023 glasses, a party horn blower in their mouth and last but not least a fairly sized confetti cannon in their hand. Y/N sneaked back to where Peter was, their eyes crinkled up in mirth as a wide smirk stretched across their blushing face all the while they barely held their equal amounts of amusement and nervousness energy in. Finally, Y/N was right behind Peter and with all their bravery blew the blow horn and set the confetti canon off right beside his pretty bald head, startling him enough to drop his cigarette and jump up. "Surpise! Happy New Year!!!" Y/N released all the air they were holding with that excited shout and the mirth filled laughter that followed afterwards. Peter stared wide eyed and blushing. Completely caught off guard in more ways than one. Y/N still laughing, climbed over the couch and posed over it a bit awkwardly but 100% adorably. "Sooo... It's the start of a New Year Peter... I know it can seem... Pointless and a little sad but... I hope this cheers you up a bit... And maaaybe... I can give you something to look forward to?" Y/N blush deepened at his wide-eyed unblinking stare and open mouth which seemed to be slowly filling with drool. Y/N shifted awkwardly waiting for a response. "Umm... Well, my uh... New Years resolution is to take chances and try new things..." Y/N fidgeting increased. "Do you um, have one Peter?" Y/N shifted their legs over the couch still holding their cat-like "draping" pose. Peter's eyes seemed to simultaneously shine with amusement while darkening considerably as he stepped eagerly forward; his tongue peeking out of his sharp-tooth smirk and his hands gripping his shirt tightly. Licking his lips he finally replied, "I do now... Darling. As a matter of fact, I know exactly what my New Years resolution is going to be..." Y/N tensed expectedly while blinking cluselessly back at Peter not quite sure what he meant. "Well... What is it?" Y/N titled their head cutesy, their fingers twitching nervously as their stomach flipped and flopped. Peter responded this time with a dark chuckle that shook his shoulders. "Oh, darling... You're about to find out." *SpongeBob Time-Skip Guy Voice: Many Hours Later* Peter laid back with a shit-eating smile on his flushed face, Y/N completely KO-ed next to him. Peter looked down at his one and only and softly kissed the top of their head. "Thank you Darling, you really gave me something to look forward to this year." With a melancholic smile full of joy he continued while playing with their hair, "And this just proves how much we are meant to be... I'll be yours forever... And you'll be mine... Nothing can tear the red-string of fate that connects us... Not time or even reality. You're my destiny... And I'm yours..." Peter closed his eyed happily and buried himself in Y/N side, meshing their bodies as humanely close as possible together. So, despite not really caring much for New Years he had to admit, with Y/N by his side it gave him quite the incentive to celebrate- at this point just about anything. He wondered briefly how many more holidays they could have some more "fun" celebrating together this year... He'd be sure to find as many as possible. Peter really did have oh-so much to look forward to... And Y/N too... Whether they knew it and liked it ... Or not.
