I felt like you, like most reactors, will not take Buffy’s side on here. It disappointing really after everything Buffy had to sacrifice. But I’m glad you guys saw it was wrong to kick her out.

RE: BtVS The revolt happened fast but I think it had to be fast or else someone would have thought better of it and it probably wouldn't have happened. Buffy was rarely as impulsive as Faith had been but figuring out what/where the problem was and then just going to deal with it was certainly 'the plan' a few times. That worked most of the time when it was just her or when it was Buffy with some of the scoobies, but with a group of 30-40 newbies there really does need to be a real plan. I wonder if any of the scoobies (specifically Dawn, possibly Willow) recognized that Buffy was in over her head at playing general and just wanted to set her free? There's nothing stated openly about this possibility, just the view we get of Dawn at the end of “Dirty Girls.” While Buffy walks through the house contemplating the injured girls and what had just happened, Dawn seems to be contemplating Buffy. Everyone else is glaring at Buffy but Dawn looks worried about her. IMO. Giles has been insisting that Buffy lead and make the decisions – as long as he agrees with those decisions. Wood thought it was time for Buffy to test the potentials in battle – until she did. The fight at the vineyard was a tough way to learn that Buffy isn't a Superhero. She has super powers, but Buffy Summers is just a person. Strangely enough, she is (or was) the female leader of a secret paramilitary demon-hunting unit. And the only life experience Buffy can call on to deal with that situation was a semester of Psychology and a few days in The Initiative. Her “everyone sucks but me” speeches isn't how Buffy typically does things but I think would have sounded perfectly normal coming from Professor Walsh; who was stabbed in the back by the monster she created and turned into a shell of her former self.
