Chapter 16 Negotiation

Godo was concerned. not for his own life but for everyone else in the village. especially his daughter and his wife.

The young man in front of him was much stronger than the soldier second class or third class he met in the past. He must be as strong as those soldiers in the first class.

Of course he could still not be compared to someone like Sephiroth.

But he was strong enough to destroy the village now. In the village there’s only a few people who can stand against him. Not to mention his group seems to be very strong too.

‘What should I do, I can fight with the young man but the outcome wouldn’t be good. All I can do is just hold him until the elders arrive.’

And as he was about to make a decision to fight to death with Jaune and his people. Someone called the young man first.

“Jaune, please. We come to negotiate, not to kill them.”

The young man he knew his name now thought a little before nodding his head.

Godo sighed in relief. It looked like the situation wasn’t to the point that negotiation was impossible.

The woman then looked at him before she spoke. Her voice demands attention.

“We didn’t come here to fight with you at all. In fact, we just landed here accidentally. We want to come here to ask for your help, but as you can see, your people tried to kill us first, We just protected ourselves. So the death of your people isn't our responsibility.”

Godo understood everything. They can’t demand any compensation for the death. The responsibility fell to the one who sent them to their deaths.

Godo could only nod his head. Many people looked at him and thought he was weak to bow his head to the outsiders.

‘Our comrades’ lives don't matter to him!’

Infighting was common in a place that had a hierarchy like this. They were waiting for him to make a mistake. and this one seemed to be a mistake in their eyes.

One of the ninjas that was with him looked at Ifalna with contempt. For him, women shouldn’t be the spokesperson.

“You’re a woman, Shut up. Let the man do the talk. We demand you to let go of our people and compensa-”

He couldn’t finish speaking. He felt the world upside down. His head was smack hard by the end of the spear. He fell unconscious after that.

“She’s my spokesperson. You need to give her some respect dude.”

Jaune did what he did to prevent any further conflict. If the man successfully stir up people it will make their momentum lower.

With this show of strength, it should be enough to stop others from having another thought.

Godo closed his eyes. There were so many idiots with him. Fortunately the young man seemed to know what to do and didn’t kill him out right.

This could not only prevent any further conflict. but it also told everyone that they truly didn’t come here to fight them and came here to just ask for their help.

And it was they who attacked them first. They were victims in this situation.

“Very well, I apologize for my subordinate misbehavior. I will punish him accordingly. As for negotiation, I want to know the terms first.”

Jaune looked at Ifalna. He didn’t have any experience in negotiation so he will leave it to her.

Ifalna nodded back at Jaune before she told Godo about what she wanted their help with and what compensation they would get out of this.

“Y-You mean you will compensate us with food if we can help you cross to the other continent… Is that even possible.”

Godo wasn’t sure if this negotiation was a joke or not, They didn’t seem to be able to carry much food with them. But the next thing that happened made him understand why this negotiation was possible.

The young man had a materia that contained space magic in them. inside the space magic there was so much food in it.

“If you can help us. We will give this mastered materia to you.”

Godo thought for a moment before he sighed. He wanted to help them and get those food but.

“We can’t, Even if we wanted to. Shinra troops are now stationed near the place where we park our airship. That’s why we didn’t have much food in the village in the first place. They cut us off from everywhere else.”

That’s why this war. Wutai will lose.

After hearing about the situation from Godo. Ifalna then told him that they need to discuss among themselves first. and as for the hostages.

As a goodwill gesture they will be released immediately.

They didn’t care much about the hostages. In fact they didn’t even know what to do with them.

They're not very useful right now. If the Wutai’s radical faction wanted to hurt them, They didn't care how the hostages' lives were. They will think that the hostages were the sacrifices.

What a cruel group of people.

“What do you think about this plan? We will ask for information about them. And we went to deal with Shinra's soldiers. Then we took an airplane and flew to the continent we wanted.”

It was a simple plan. But it was probably the best plan available right now. If they don't deal with Shinra's soldiers first. There was absolutely no way for them to leave this continent.

“I agree with Jaune’s plan!”

Pyrrha agreed, She would in fact agree to every plan Jaune made.

“Me too”

Blake after thinking a little bit. She agree too. There’s nothing they could do if they didn’t get rid of Shinra’s soldiers first.

“Well, I agree too but can I have more quality dust ammo please? I don’t have any coins right now but I promise I will return it!”

Ruby agreed, but she needed more dust ammo. because it’s kind of expensive, and she used almost all of her coins on cookies from the world of food. The cookie was very delicious and good for her health. There’s no way a cookie monster like her could stand its allure!

Yang could only sigh at Ruby. She tried to teach her about financial management but all in vain!

And while Jaune and everyone was talking about the plan, His ears picked something. Jaune looked in the direction of the sound he heard before using the rope tied to the rock and throwing it in that direction. A rope tied to a rock binded someone who eavesdropped on his plans.

“A little girl?”

Jaune was very surprised. He didn't think that the person eavesdropping on him was a girl dressed like a ninja. She tried to resist but her body was too weak. She looked at Jaune. Her tears spilled out.

It seemed that she was very afraid. Jaune saw that it was a girl and he immediately went to untie her.

"Good girl, don't cry. I’ll give you this."

Jaune convinced the girl not to cry. and gave her some sweets. The girl immediately stopped crying when she ate the sweets Jaune gave her.

Janue seemed to be soft with the girl and wanted to let her go.

"Jaune, we can't let her go. She already knows our plan. Even if our plan didn't pose any danger to the people of the village. But if our plans leak It might be dangerous for us."

Ifalna stopped Jaune. She could not let him let her go just yet.

The girl looked at Jaune then at Ifalna. She needed to say something so that they would let her go.

“I-I am Yuffie Kisaraki the daughter of Godo Kisaraki. The one your people made a deal with. I just want to come here and see what the outsiders look like. I didn’t mean any bad thing I swear!”

Ifalna heard her. Her heart hurt. She missed her little girl too but she knew that her daughter would be more than fifteen years old by now.

She then looked at Jaune. She wanted to know about his decision.

“I will let her go. I know she didn’t mean any harm. and you won’t tell anyone about our plan right?”

“Absolutely! I will never tell your plan to anyone. not even with my father and mother!”

“Oh! That's a good girl, Here I give you another one!”

Jaune then gave the girl more sweets. She loved it!

Looked like not many children in the village could afford to eat some sweets. War is a cruel thing.

Jaune let Yuffie go but not after two hours she went back. He knew what she wanted. so he gave it to her.

He felt like he’s an uncle who lures children with sweets.
