Y'all mentioned wishing that there was a toy that you could just keep adding on to but when it comes to Gurren Lagann, I think that it would start off the size of a gumball and end up being bigger than anything could feasibly store and/or play with.

I don't know if they mentioned it in the Discord or not, but episode 16 of Gurren Lagann is just a recap episode and can be skipped.

FOR THE BLEACH #SUNDAYRUNDOWN
I originally wrote some of this the week you guys took a break but it's still very relevant so I'll just repeat it again while adding onto it.
I would highly, highly recommend you guys read the manga chapter 264, which 154 (aka the episode where Rukia first fought "Kaien") adapts, I'll link some pages here too. The artwork is brilliant, especially at capturing Rukia's rage. It is up there with my favourite parts in the series, the anime, unfortunately does not do that part of the fight enough justice, Michelle Ruff absolutely kills it though. It is gut wrenching for Rukia, and remember this has been set up since Byakuya first uttered the words that Ichigo does bear a striking resemblance to "him" aka Kaien way back in episode 17 when Ichigo is half dead on the ground. Judging from Rukia's reaction, he was right on the mark, for him to empathise back then showed he always cared about her and understood why she did what she did. This was later emphasised again, when Ukitake first laid eyes on him and Byakuya rightfully dismissed it as the characters don't have a connection. Kaien was also Ukitake's lieutenant so his reaction had significant meaning. Nevertheless, the series is telling us to pay attention to this. They've been building towards this for so long, it was the main reason why Rukia accepted her execution and now she has to kill that person again. As she did, it completes a major character arc in the series. This series has a tendency to hit you in the face with tragedy and there's not a better example than Rukia. She was introduced as fun, quirky and a little aloof, but as they delved deeper into her character, we saw how much she has suffered. It really shows how much meeting Ichigo meant to her, she would probably never have been on this path if it wasn't for him. He saved her in more ways than one. To give her that chance to redeem herself, not that she needed to, but that guilt ate away at her for so long that she began to believe that she killed Kaien and not the hollow. Ultimately, Rukia's arc has been about forgiving yourself, learning about how to deal with grief and moving on. Oh and not to mention, she managed to kill a fucking espada, the first one to do so, an incredible feat for a character to bow out to. I also recommend passing this info onto the rest of the crew because it would make them appreciate Rukia's character so much more. Here's the official translation for 4 pages of the manga chapter since I have a shonen jump subscription (please support the official release). https://imgur.com/a/LUXWUEh
Here are some pages from the end of the fight as well to make it more relevant towards this week: https://imgur.com/a/Q0hDla9
iirc these comments are screencapped for sunday so guess you're going to have to type these urls into your browser, defo worth it though.

The interaction between him and Ishida during the Cirucci fight lasts for several pages. It's a good portion of that chapter.

I'd say very very padded out lol. They literally dedicated half an episode to a single page for Pesche

I don't think I've ever experienced this before! I'm not the type of person who enjoys seeing others suffering. And yet...the utter despair...the rage-filled anguish that is being inflicted on all of you by Pesche Guatiche and Dondochakka Bilstein fills me with a level of sadistic joy I can't even describe. 🤣🤣🤣🤣😈
Is this perhaps what Kubo felt when he created them? Again, EVERYTHING you are seeing with them is 100% canon. Just padded out in some scenes. 🤪

Watching this episode made me realize how much the arc has already played on the themes of the heart along with your feelings. From this moment here with Kaien, to the Privaron Espada telling Ichigo he has to get rid of that softness and be cruel in these fights. I can’t wait for y’all to see how it continues to play out and culminates.
The most interesting character in this arc by far has to be Ulquiorra, maybe you get that from being the strong/silent type but I even love his moments with Orihime, some of the best dialogue in the arc. Him turning her shit right back on her and telling her to be angry at her friends for being so stupid to actually try, all with that stoic ass voice. An amazing Arrancar.

#SundayRundown Since this was Rukia's big episode, here's some Rukia facts you may or may not know. On top of being the first character to defeat an Espada, she is also the literal first character, back when Tite Kubo was first thinking of a manga to get published he drew a shinigami in a black kemono, that was Rukia which became the premise for bleach, it's also referenced in the first episode/chapter when she is the first character to be shown. Rukia is also first in popularity, at least in the polls that ran during the weekly manga, in which the first poll she was 2nd, in the 2nd character poll she was the most popular female character, she also ranked top 3 in other polls like best fight and best zanpakuto. Finally in 2022 for the bleach return a final poll was had. Rukia came first overall making her the MOST popular bleach character. It's clear she has an important place not only the story but the fans and creators heart.

#SundayRundown Rana is a real one, she recognizes the greatness of Attenborough. The rest don’t know it yet, but he is the greatest gunner in the universe lol. It’s also crazy how Team Dai-Gurren conducted an assault on the enemy stronghold by themselves, without expecting any support. Simon would’ve probably screamed his way to victory, so it all worked out.

This Rukia fight has always been one of my favorites and ended with that beautiful violin 🤌Also Would you guys consider dropping 165-167 together as they go together perfectly?

As people have previously written, there was a lot of Orihime and Ulquiorra shipping during this entire arc. Personally, I see the appeal in a fictional sense of enemies to lovers (sorta). Obviously irl this whole thing is a no no but I like the idea of the combination between such a stoic character and such a ditsy other character.
Idk if I'm weird but I prefer these types of episodes rather than mediocre episodes because atleast these annoying character antics provide a different type of entertainment in seeing you guys lose your shit lmao.
