Honestly, like Tywin, Logan is an evil bastard but he's so dope. I love the contrast of everyone being rich and how they choose to show or deny wealth.
Meanwhile, Logan doesn't want to be around anyone. The dude just wants to eat a fuckin big Mac and watch the game in his living room.
Really shows that he's an old dude from the dirt who knows how full of shit the world he lives in is.

@space1999 I love this series shows there's "rich" and "I can put one of the most powerful people in human history on hold" rich. They all drink from the same slop but the slop is not all created equal. At some point someone is so wealthy the power it exerts exceeds their wealth and affords them to dress like Bill Gates and eat a Big Mac on a regular basis without any judgement from anyone around them.

I feel like you do. This series was only good to a point and felt that point happened in previous seasons. I tried to get back into this series past the last half of season five and it's a slog.

💀 Yeah I think I read it’s a theme throughout the show, the characters who value their wealth more eat nicer food. Tom loves being rich
Also every dinner this episode told you about what the characters valued
The people who fed Greg were also feeding him their opinions on the world
Edit: Suraj and Chris on point

At season six I think I’m burnt out with Office reactions now. The Jim/Michael co-managing was a strange idea imo. The only storyline in Season six I liked was the Donna and episode. I’ll tune in for some specific episodes but now more interested in Succession reactions.

People that have more money than god tend to like their fast food. Bill Gates favorite food is regular cheese burger. Warren Buffet's daily fast food and soda drink count (at least five) is so much I'm shocked he's still alive. Even Bezos eats at McDonalds on a regular basis.
Tom's rich but he's not more money than god rich and it's interesting to me he seems to be projecting what he thinks the wealthiest people in history eating habits are. I would love to see the look on Logan Roy's face if Tom tried that ridiculous bird eating ceremony in front of him.
BTW, below is a link to a photo showing Bill Gates standing in line waiting to order a burger.

for the black eye their was a deleted scene where Tom and Shiv were sleeping and Shiv elbowed him in the face while asleep, thats why he has that awkward af explanation because at least for him it sounds better then "my wife sleep elbowed me in the face" so no you didn't fuck up I'm sure pretty much everyone who watched paused this ep and went back to the last one to figure out how the hell Tom has a black eye, in short Shiv abuses Tom even in her sleep

Sure they could have, but I’m speaking specifically from Kendall’s perspective, in response to Chris saying he did everything right. And tbf, I think Frank gave it his all.

The discussion around the way food is used in Succession is always interesting, there are multiple essays out there on this subject that can be found in the ny times and huff post, and other sites too but unfortunately they all contain spoilers for future episodes.

Shouldn’t pin everything on Kendall. Gerri, Roman, Frank all could’ve put in more effort if they really cared about this operation.

#SundayRundown Roman did truly side with Kendall and had Logan not been in the room, he would have voted Kendall's way, now Logan showing up and being in the room which caused Roman to change his vote directly speaks to the power dynamic of Logan/Roman's relationship and gives you much insight into how their relationship is in general. Not to mention the fact that Shiv and Connor didn't even get a vote and it was Kendall willing to take his dad on, but ultimately punished for it, it all speaks to the family dynamic. This show does a hell of a job showing you deeper meaning into scenes like this one, I urge you guys to pay close attention to how the family maneuvers with one another, it gives great insight into how their childhood must of been like growing up with their father and with each other.

#SundayRundown
While Roman was a bitch, Kendall played himself. The only reason he had to go and secure Alona's vote was because he panic called her daughter to check if she was going to attend the meeting (she usually doesn't). This was right after he called Frank with doubts - he was self-sabotaging.
If he hadn't done that, she would have been absent and he would not have needed her vote. More importantly, he would have been present to put some backbone in Stewie and Roman (and Lawrence by extension). Those are 3 votes right there - more than enough.
Even after he blundered and got Alona to call in, he would ahve been better off allowing her vote and securing the 3. He made bad call after bad call, tragic.

Yeah Kendall dropped a 30 year relationship with that firm for a steep deal with a coke head of questionable loyalty. He acted under the pressure of the immediate situation but couldn’t see the deeper layer of connections and history. That’s what separates him from Logan I think. Logan just has the benefit of experience and wouldn’t make as rash of a decision.

Great episode. This was a turning point for the show btw. In terms of introducing a more shakespearean quality and general critical reception, this is the episode of the series that’s most commonly cited as if you don’t like the show by now, it probably isn’t for you.
Also, I think Chris is a bit off with Kendall’s competency. He should not have taken that risk of traveling out there. He was that insecure about that one vote when they were already in a decent position. Also while earlier in the season Kendall found a cash/equity infusion for the company through Stewy…he’s also the one who fucked up negotiations or quelling of worries or something like that on the phone IIRC, right? Logan may have done better there and Stewy is tied to Sandy anyways. I think that’s why Logan didn’t want Kendall just pulling anyone in the company.
And Roman voting against should tell you something about Logan and their relationship rather than just Roman is shitty. He is, but it’s not just flimsy or without good reason.

Roman supports Kendall but just caved against his father. Logan is still top dog. I thought the couch would comment more on Gerri as well. She’s truly the slippery water character of this episode.

Kendall is just the avatar of his own destruction, dude was so insecure about getting lady to vote that he risked everything
I feel bad for Roman, like he’s THAT terrified of his father. You know that man has extreme trauma to make a choice like that, Logan has power over every aspect of his life
