Suraj, if you're missing Tatsuki, you can look at the following: https://www.reddit.com/r/bleach/comments/vel70i/bleach_chapter_252_618_things_like_loneliness/ It's a short bonus chapter (5 pages), set way back, on the day after Ichigo beat Grand Fisher. It details Tatsuki's thoughts, and is, in my opinion, a showcase of Bleach's character writing at it's best. No spoilers at all. I am revealing this to you now because the arc you're about to see is greatly enhanced by just thinking about what each characters thoughts and philosophies are. It will be beneficial to ask yourselves "what does a mask represent?" "What themes is the show trying to communicate in this fight?"

2023-11-09 16:27:03 +0000 UTCFYI, antlion pits are an actual thing separate from quicksand. Antlions are a type of predatory insect that look very similar to dragonflies. They're also the inspiration for the Pokemon Trapinch, Vibrava, and Flygon. Antlion larvae dig pits in sand and then hide at the bottom. The sides of the pits are steep enough that when prey (like ants) wander in, they slide down into the pit and can't climb back out. Quicksand occurs when sand is saturated enough that it can't support weight (there's more to it, but that's the basic jist).

Now because in these episodes we met some Arrancar with wild names and because I've been looking for a fun place to drop these facts here is why the Espada are named like that. All the Espada are named after semi famous western designers and architects who's names Kubo translated between Japanese and the Roman Alphabet a few times. Grimmjow is named partially after Nicholas Grimshaw and Kubo played around some English characters not having a real counterpart in Japanese Romanji(Hopefully there's a linguist in the comments that can break it down better than I can). I can also tell you that every Espada's name has double letters. Grimmjow has the letter M twice Ulquiorra has the letter R, and so on. There is one that technically doesn't follow the rule but it's such a tangled mess I'll put a comment when their name comes up.

2023-11-08 19:43:18 +0000 UTCThere's less filler in these episodes than you think. Nel and the others are canon characters but they did pad out a lot of the dialougue as you pointed out. As I recall the actual filler parts were Nel taking Ichigo's sword, and the sand guy doesn't come back after Rukia freezes him. Also in the actual fight I don't think they had all 3 attack him, just Ichigo, regeneration, sand explanation, Rukia.
