Wildlands Update (hopefully) coming soon!

I know a lot of folks have been looking forward to our Wildlands Update that we're a bit late with, so I wanted to give everyone an update.

I'm working really hard on the update and probably have another 7 days of work left on it I'd imagine. Unfortunately the baby has been difficult the last couple weeks, and particularly the last couple days, which has slowed me down a lot.

They warn you about the sleepless nights with a newborn but it never really clicked with me that I'd be spending that whole time totally stressed out in a sisyphean loop of very time/energy-consuming activities constantly trying to maintain an uneasy peace with this lil wonderful creature. Also, I assume some babies are easier than others...

So about the Wildlands! We've seen some chatter from folks expecting a lot from this update, and we're hoping people set their expectations properly. The goal for the Wildlands was primarily to provide a place for you to find and retrieve your deposited ooblets, and not as a new region with any sort of storyline. We picked this update to release around now because we knew we'd be pretty busy with the baby. The Nullwhere Update was largely finished before I had the baby which is why we were able to release it so quickly afterward.

That said, we did put a lot of new stuff in this update. We thought it might be a let-down to just be a basic area for you to retrieve your ooblets, so we made a lot more work for ourselves to make it more interesting. The biggest part of that is a Wildlands-specific quest system and associated advancement path to improve the Wildlands. The progression of that system provides some new items/decor I've designed as well as unlocks a couple subsections of the Wildlands, like a new fishing spot with bigger hauls than the other fishing spot and a nurny mine.

There's also a new forageable resource, some interesting recipes/blueprints, a few more Wildlands-related Tinstle Tasks, and even a few bug fixes. We hope you'll all like it!

(Note: There won't be fishing for legsies in the update)
