Pausing the Patreon

Hey everyone! Just following up on my post from earlier in the month about what I should do with my patreon.

First off though, another huge thanks for everything you've all done to help me get to launch! We're so grateful to all of you. This lovely community has been a wonderful refuge for us throughout development, and we can't begin to express how much it's meant to us.

It's been such a hectic couple weeks and I appreciate you all being so patient with me getting back to you all and sorting everything out.

To recap, I know I don't really have the time to post much here anymore with the game just out in early access, so I don't want to keep charging people without offering anything. I asked if Patreon could switch us to per-creation billing to effectively stop charging folks, but they wouldn't allow it since that's apparently something you can't do if you've ever enabled upfront payments, so I think pausing payments is the best and simplest path forward.

With pausing, you won't lose access to old posts, everyone will still be around, I think I can still post new content (when I can), and if I ever do have the time to devote to making the patreon worthwhile again, I can unpause it.

One note is that this requires me to remember to re-pause it every month, so there's a chance I goof that up. If you want to be on the safe side, you should cancel your membership and become a follower of my page instead:

On Patreon, click your profile pic on the upper right and go to Manage Memberships
Click the Edit link next to my name
Click Edit or Cancel Membership on that next page and select Cancel, etc.
Go back to my profile page after cancelling and select the Follow button
Also make sure you're a member of our mailing list!
