2023-09-12 04:38:30 +0000 UTCthats not true at all or well almost slightly true. the clone saga happened, there were a bunch of clones made of peter. there were 2 main ones (the most popular ones) that survived: kaine (villain, brutal. the sabretooth to peter's wolverine. he became good in the 2000s just brutal so wolverine) ben, and peter. so ben has always been a clone and we have always known this. HERE comes where you are slightly right. after creating his own name of ben riley (riley is may's maiden name) and dying his hair blonde and being scarlet spider, it was discovered that BEN was the real peter parker the whole time and the one they thought was the original was the clone. THAT turned out not to be true and then he died. so thats why you are kinda correct that he was killed after we found he was the clone but its not like we NEVER had him as a clone before that. he wasnt a rando named ben riley but a cloned peter from jump. why they went back and forth on its beyond me, its just soap drama to me, doesnt mean people hate him lol we clearly dont hence why he was brought back in 2015 (the jackal would just reclone peter and download ben's memories back into the new clone every time he died) and has been a staple in comics since. he even had his own ongoing comic in the 90s before his death and sold very well til the comic boom. this is not a jason todd situation where people called an 800 number to vote for them to kill him off lol

2023-09-11 22:35:38 +0000 UTCloved the animation and it was a fun watch but not something i would want to own or ever watch again. opposite of tmnt. loved the characters and would definitely watch a sequel. cared nothing for any of the characters outside "i look cool" in spiderverse. ben riley was clearly the best. give me THAT movie. so true. so real. so melodramatic.

They say babies can tell who's evil or a dick from the good people and such, if a baby likes you, you're probably a good person. So her crawling all over Miguel and such was a nice moment, Miguel of course isn't "evil".

2023-09-10 22:06:54 +0000 UTCThe way I see it is Miguel is like, a well intentioned but potentially misguided character. From his perspective, what he's doing is the only way to prevent Miles entire world from being destroyed. It's not like it's something you could test for or whatever, because the result of a test would be another world getting destroyed if you're right, quite the risk. From what we see, a canon event being disrupted does result in a big hole opening that seems to be eating everything so he's definitely not 100% wrong, he might just be wrong about the causes. I suspect it's going to turn out he's not entirely correct and there is another way (cause they probably aren't gonna have this series end with the message of "you just gotta accept bad stuff happening and shut up" and kill off Miles dad, that'd be a bummer and a very odd message) and Miguel will probably get either a "oh god I was wrong, I gotta make up for it" sacrifice moment or just a clutch redemption save when everything seems at its worst in the next movie.

What he did was create a new character, which is part of the job of a writer, the same way Stan Lee or any other creator did when they added Spider-man or any other character to the Marvel universe back in the 60s or the years afterwards. It's not like the canon says "there can only be Peter Parker Spider-man". It would have been screwing the established canon if he'd said "actually, Peter Parker was a villain all along, running the longest of long cons and Miles is the real and true Spider-Man and he's gonna stop him" or something like that. He's just a writer who was paid to write comics and had a position with enough clout that he'd established by writing award winning and very popular comics for a long time. He did it very well in the case of Miles and a bunch of other characters over the years but it wasn't a grand statement against the universe he was adding to, just his own contribution that built upon i and did something a bit different.

So in my head cannon Miles 42 is like the Batman of his universe and his tiò Aaron is like a Alfred. That’s why he would keep and question our miles because he’s always on guard and paranoid. Of course miles 42 has a more Hispanic accent is because his mother was the one to mostly raise him so instead of getting the best of both worlds he is a mamas boy.

There was also a lot of purple and green (the prowler's colors) throughout the world of earth 42. It was a dead give away he was in the wrong universe. In the comics the Prowler goes from being a thief to a vigilante. I'm HOPING that Miles of earth 42 is a vigilante (and Uncle Aaron is his guy in the chair) and teams up with our Miles but who knows? Also, the guy in the chair thing comes from Miles' comics. They took the idea and put it in the movies because the dynamic worked well in Miles' comics. Also also : the Council of Ricks is swiped from the Council of Kangs.

Around a decade ago he wasn’t being tapped to play Miles in a movie (as Miles didn’t exist at this point in time), instead he wanted (and fans were petitioning Sony) to be casted as a black version of Peter Parker. Obviously he didn’t get the role (some guy named Andrew did), but as a cheeky nod to that little event Community had him in a scene with the Spidey PJs. Brian Michael Bendis, a major writer and editor at Marvel at the time saw this Community episode (and all the hubbub around a black spider man) and with that create the character of Miles Morales (who first appeared in Ultimate Fallout #4). So actually Donald Glover is the inspiration of Miles Morales and throughout the years he has voiced the character and has gone to playing another character related to Miles (Aaron). So yea Glover’s connection to Miles runs deep. #sundayrundown

This has still been a topic of confusion and debate for years, and most people still think the MCU takes place in Earth-616. And movies like Far From Home and Multiverse of Madness added more confusion. But I’m going with the official handbook which is now also confirmed by Miguel O’Hara.
