Just to let you guys know there will be a spoiler that comes at the end of episode 4 of the Live Action One Piece. They showed it much earlier in the LA than it is shown in the Manga and you ladies aren't there yet so you will be spoiled.

This JJK episode was perfect. Favorite part was probably nobara and megumi being on the same wavelength "it's like THAT", and holding up the 10 point signs XD. Also Mechamaru's technique is the pupets but his heavenly pact allows him to basically broadcast it all over Japan at the cost of his mangled body.

Oh yeah there is definitely quality work here. Honestly nothing here is bad, just not stuff I am interested in. Like the fighting. The combat in One Piece is near impossible to adapt to live action perfectly so changes have to be made. And the choreography is great. Zoro's fighting style in particular really translates well to live action. The opening Alvida fight made me disappointed and lowered my hopes but the rest of the episode was much better. It is all great, I just gravitate more to the big moves of the anime. I'm just wondering how they will handle the more outlandish stuff later (how will Zoro vs Kaku even work, let alone look cool?). I think the best part is the people involved seem like they do not have an inherent bias that animation is somehow inferior. For once I do believe them when they talk about how they love and respect the source material. I'm still put off by the overall feel since the over the top acting seems weird in live action. I might get more into it as I watch more of it. I don't think it will replace the anime for me but it seems like a great show for old and new fans.

First of all, I totally understand you. I was also sceptical. I watched it now to the fullest with my girlfriend and we both were absolutely happy with the result. The greatest thing of all is that it is not a copy. It has a lot of scenes and situations that are not part of the anime or manga but still feel canon in itself. It's like an alternative plot with a lot of "What if" situations.
If you are not scared of the Live Action visuals, then I think this first season is a really cool addition to the manga/anime canon. Especially with some wholesome crew interactions and maybe big surprises in the storytelling.

Zorro is the one with the horrible sense of direction not Luffy. Luffy's just dumb.

Fun fact:
Season 1 of the One Piece live action has almost triple the budget of Game of Thrones Season 1.
144m vs 50-60m

I don't know much about the One Piece universe going into the series but after seeing the first episode of the live action I'm immediately invested.

In the Young Justice comics - between Seasons 1 and 2 it's been clarified that Dick Grayson has dated Zatanna and Rocket. He's had a fling with Bette Kane when they were both years older (the student liaison who was giving young Artemis a tour when Dick snuck next to her to take that photo we see him looking at later in this episode). As well as a long term "understanding" with Barbara Gordon(Batgirl) that when he's finally ready to settle down - she'll be waiting for him. Otherwise she helps him "celebrate" his birthday every year.
Best line in the comic is Wally wondering how Dick is on such great terms with all his exes.
Dick: "That's my super power..."

I don't know if you guys noticed at the end of the fort One Piece episode, but the guy that plays Buggy looked SUPER familiar, and his voice sounded familiar too. Then I realized in episode 2.
Its Deke! From Agents of Shield! One of the producers for the show is also a producer from AoS and Luke Cage. So maybe there's some crossover there. Explains the good quality tbh.

Careful with OP I can't confirm but it feels like the show may spoil a big reveal for the end of the water 7 arc

I think this is the first time where there is a show I know is good yet I personally am not into it. One Piece LA definitely seems like quality and has a lot of passion put in. However I just can't fully appreciate this show without comparing it to the anime. And while good it just feels like an imitation to me. But luckily others will still probably enjoy it.
