Attachments being a "bad thing" is really flawed ideology and logic. "Rebels" proves that to be a false doctrine on a topic that's extremely nuanced. The attachment issue is consistently one of the problematic things with the jedi in large part because it's literally impossible for a sentient being to not have any attachments. The Clone Wars series does a good job showing how flawed that ideology is when the main characters consistently show attachments being important to what they do; whether it be in diplomacy or fighting Separatists. What you described as "love" is not how it really works. It's not possible to have love without a minimal level of attachment to the thing that's loved. Love becomes just a word if there's no attachment to justify why you love the thing you do and if they just view love as just a word, it often leads to catastrophic results. You also can't love something without simultaneously disliking or hating something else. It's not shocking Lucas didn't understand these concepts because his idea of "love" is horribly written and comical on many levels. Lucas is an absolute dunce at writing relationships. The argument you're making is an argument for anything in life; too much of a thing is bad. It's problematic when basic human function or logic that most people understand becomes a source of dogmatic doctrine; which is what the Jedi have become in the era of Palpatine. Having your cake and eating it too doesn't apply to anything in the Imperial government because they supply the cake and control the cake. Most pawns are eating the cake because they have to.

Chaos T

Well you can have the cake or you can eat it, if you eat it, you no longer have a cake, so you can't have both, you can get another cake, but the same principle would apply. As for how it applies to the force, check this video where George explains the force - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9nFMBBrliyQ Attachments are a bad thing, but love isn't you can love and care for something, but you can't let yourself become attached to it, you have to be ready and willing to let it go if necessary. Attachments, can drive you into greed if you don't let go, which then drags you into the darks side.

Loki

I'm more excited for the reaction to 2x3 of Always Sunny than I was any episode of The Good Place... one of my favorite shows ever. I say this based on my own tastes in humor.

Civ

They might be able to finish watching it before Ahsoka, even if all the episode reactions haven't been released yet by then.

Cory Stanish

Why can't people have their cake and eat it too? It works for Star Trek. That's always been a weird saying anyway. I agree in principle the Grey Jedi may not really work but at the same time it's never really been tried in "canon". Practical application is different from theory. One of the things I love about "Rebels" is its attempt at exploring some of the Grey Jedi type issues. It's hard to explain further without spoiling things but this series compared to others really made me think different about concepts like attachments being a bad thing for followers of Jedi doctrine.

Chaos T

It's great for two episodes in a row the crew laughed so hard they had to gasp for air. This series is going to be a great reaction series for the crew.

Chaos T

Yeah I don't know if they will finish Rebels when Ahsoka comes out. Even if they do 2 episodes.

Grimm

This cannot be stressed enough, do not start the Ahsoka series till you finish Rebel! Dave Filoni who created both shows, literally said that the series will be a continuation of where things ended in Rebels Season 4.

Daniel Sessions

The upside though is that's why it was so effective against Palpatine

Loki

Yeah, the "Grey Jedi" idea is people wanting their cake and eating it to. The Dark side is like a bottomless pool, the further you dip in the harder it is to get out of it, and the bottom is whispering that what you want is there, you just have to embrace it, but all that is there is pain and suffering.

Loki

Don't quote me on this, but you might be referring to his lightsaber style "Vaapad". Vaapad was described as more than a fighting style; it was a state of mind that led through the outer periphery of the dark side, requiring the user to enjoy the fight and relish the satisfaction of winning. The Vaapad practitioner would accept their opponent's fury, transforming themselves into one half of a superconducting loop, with the other half being the power of darkness inherent in the opponent. The form was also mentioned with a cautionary warning by the Jedi that the use of Vaapad led the user perilously close to the dark side due to its focus on physical combat. So for Windu, the style takes him close to the dark side but he doesn't actually use it.

Matthew Bankston

Yeah but I’m not paying 14$ Anymore for one episode of rebels especially not since I don’t really care for what they are watching besides S.W rebels, sorry Normies

Joao

Im tacking on mass here hoping for double drops. These reactions are great

ispeckz--

Doesn't Make Windu use the dark side somewhat for his "special" force ability?

ispeckz--

Marketa is absolutely right regarding the dark side. It is raw power, addictive. One cannot use it selectively, it consumes you, once you start using it, you cannot stop, it becomes your only tool. People love the "Gray Jedi" concept, but they cannot exist. George Lucas himself explained that "balance in the Force" does not mean dark and light in equal parts, it means the absence of the dark side. The dark side corrupts, it is the reason why the Force gets unbalanced.

untzillatx

Yeah, that's where they said they are "trying" to get it watched quicker, not that they "will" have it all watched by the time Ahsoka comes out.

Bryce

Yes I agree as long as there caught up by ahsoka I don’t care if they double drop or not.

Sonicluis

They mentioned it in the a Sunday roundup a few weeks ago.

Lynn Walker

@Lynn Walker Have they said definitively that they are going to be caught up? I know that they have said they are going to "TRY" to fit the recordings into their schedule, but they weren't sure that they would be able to.

Bryce

I really wish they had just made it clear that they weren’t double dropping rebels when they started. Its completely understandable to expect the successor of CW to get the same treatment. But im happy theyll be caught up for ahsoka.

TAC3000

Are Rana and Suraj coming back to Sunny.

Justin Jefferson

tbh am okay with this as long as they watch it all before ahsoka drops

sabinelorian

I love this ep of rebels soooo much

sabinelorian

They’ve already said they are not going to. They are going to watch all of Rebels before Ahsoka but will dropping an episode a week or double when it’s a two parter.

Lynn Walker

I think y'all should maintain double drops of rebels

Jonathan Ruiz

Oh god this Always Sunny reaction is going to be something else…
