I know they seemed to avoid reacting to Buffy for a long time, I'm curious if that was due to the length of the show or just an assumption that it must be corny based on the title? I admit I didn't watch it for that very reason for a long time, but they happened to watch I Only Have Eyes For You on a late night rerun. The acting and writing blew me away and I was hooked.

2023-03-24 12:27:22 +0000 UTC1. Angelus with a dash of spike and side order of dru 2. The mayor and faith 3. The master. Angelus was a pure madcap, fun villain. Dru is dru lol her cooky histrionics tickle me pink. The mayor is so wholesome for a power hingery monster. Adds to his complexity and charm. Like Angel, Faith was more than just a physical foil to buffy, but an emotional one. The acting and dialogue just added to the enjoyment of watching then face off. The master never really lived up to his potential as a foe.

For me, as much as I loved loved loved The Mayor, nothing beats the f'ed up incestuous family dynamic of the season 2 vampire trio. Honestly that whole situation was just Next Level storytelling.

Most characters that you see, especially superheroes and supervillains, are all from the comics. Also from what has been said by the producers of the show HBO Max only ordered 1 season(S4) to be made, so the show’s status is basically in Limbo, it was not directly cancelled but it hasn’t been renewed so who knows what will happen.

I probably still have the season 2 finale as my favourite, but I love this one. It’s the perfect blend of fun, action, emotion, and cheesy silliness. Sure, the cgi looks dated now, but it’s such a fun wrap up to the high school era. Just wish I’d realised you’d already started Angel on twitch. Must set a twitch reminder for next week’s eps. Oh and Rana - definitely watch Bones. It’s a fun show and probably my favourite David Boreanz character too.

Lets Go Buffy Season 4 and ANGEL Season 1.. I did catch the 1st 4 episodes of Angel on Twitch.. no spoilers.. I can't wait to rewatch everything again in order with Buffy!! This is my Happy Place! Since Faith is in a coma, she isn't dead, so unless she dies while in that coma, no new slayer will show up!

2023-03-23 18:29:45 +0000 UTCI loved the finale, everything just went perfectly, at the end of the day though, Buffy still had love for Faith because they are both slayers, no one else can really understand what's its like to be one but Faith which is why she still cares for her and always will, just like how she keeps Mr. pointy which was Kendra's favorite stake. Also like you guys I was soooo ready for the Buffy/Angel relationship to end, it was just too over the top and that relationship really dragged both characters down, Angel leaving was the best thing that could have happened to the character because he becomes so AWESOME in Angel, while in Buffy he was just meh. No more High School which to be honest I did kind of miss in the rest of the series, but I also like seeing the gang become adults too. Now onto S4, which isn't the best season for me but it does have some really cool moments and cool new characters, plus the GOAT (IYKYK).

2023-03-23 18:07:40 +0000 UTCNot that it absolves Whedon from anything, but in the commentary or Special Features (it's been 20 years since I listened to most of them) it's mentioned that Whedon asked Charisma Carpenter what she wanted to do in the final battle of season 3. She said she wanted to stake a vampire, and Wah-La, she got to. The same question was posed to Alexis Denisof, and he said he wanted to get knocked down/out right away. This episode aired in May of 1999 in Canada. Whedon encouraged people in the US to torrent it. It was delayed due to Columbine, same as Earshot. Earshot was delayed in Canada (it aired the week before the season 4 premiere). Hush is in season 4. My favourite Buffy'verse episode is in season 4 (and it is NOT Hush). So brush up on your Greek love poems and eat some cheese slices, because "I can defeat you with my intellect"! I was 18 when this episode aired (the same age as Buffy, Willow, Cordy, and Xander), but soon turned 19 (the same age as Oz).
