Hi everyone!
Welcome back to my Patreon! Boy am I excited to share some art with you all today. I know in actuality it hasn't been that long since my last post, but this past week has been incredibly hectic for me and it's just nice to sit down and settle back into my routine. =u=
To bring you up to speed, I recently moved to a new apartment and we all know just how fun moving is. I'd like to think my body has gotten a lot buffer from carrying all that heavy furniture up and down stairs haha. Physical and monetary concerns aside, I'm really happy with the new place! I've talked about this briefly in the past, but the place I lived in before was a big contributor to a bout of depression I went through last year. Like many creatives, I'm a very visual person and my environment greatly affects the way I feel. I've come to learn that I work best in a quiet, clean, and calm environment and the old place was the complete opposite. But my new place is so lovely and so wonderfully quiet (I can't stress that enough! no more frat houses blasting music into the wee hours of the morning!). I feel so incredibly grateful to live in this new home and feel confident that it will positively change the way I work and create. :D
Onto the art! I've got some finished pieces and WIPs to share with you today. I've really been interested in exploring fashion and clothing in my work lately. Of course I'm still obsessed with Overwatch (that's one thing that has remained unchanged) and have a lot of fun exploring different characters' fashion senses. I love understanding characters by thinking of what they might wear. I think Overwatch does a good job of giving their heroes personality. I like to go off those tidbits and formulate visuals of how they might present themselves to the world. I think you can tell a lot about a person by how they dress themselves and I like finding the story in clothing that people choose.
Let's take Tracer for example. She's an energetic, expressive, and fun-loving gal who doesn't take life too seriously. I'd imagine her in clothes that are sporty and relaxed. I'd avoid clothing that is too restricting or high-maintenance, at least for a day-to-day basis. She seems like a person who prioritizes comfort over anything else. Therefore, sneakers feel fitting as well as athletic wear that can be worn for multiple purposes (leggings, light-weight jackets, etc.).

On the other hand, Symmetra's personality gives off a different vibe. Also, hope you don't mind the work in progress! Symmetra is a polished, graceful, and practical person. I'd expect to see her in clothing that is put-together, clean, and elegant. I know evening dresses aren't exactly "casual" clothing, but I think it's very fitting for her. In a way, they resemble her existing outfit (long, form-fitting dress) and don't feel out of character. Actually, I really only see Symmetra in fancy dresses tbqh haha. She just rocks them so well! Besides I finally have an excuse to draw all the fancy dresses that I drool over and collect pictures of so there's that.
Do you think these fashions fit them well? Let me know what you think! ^^
Thank you all so much for your support, I feel encouraged now more than ever to work hard and share my creations with you. I'm determined to make more content in my new home and to work on projects that have been on the back burner for far too long. Wishing you a wonderful weekend and I'll see you in a couple days with another post. <3
Love,
Vicki
