The lucky coin returns. Love tokens, or Leaden Hearts, were made by convicts who painstakingly smoothed and re-etched coins they'd managed to squirrel away to commemorate/celebrate events and connections etc. You may notice Jack has changed his name to James Nesbitt on the token, this will be his new name in the final draft as I've decided it fits better considering James was Alexander Scott's real life lover.
The inscription above was largely lifted from 21 Year old Joseph Budd in 1833 to an unknown lover.
