Cave of the Crystal Serpent

"You wander the labyrinthine pathways between the many shifting pockets of reality. As you walk along, you feel the ground rumbling slightly. The occasional crystal chimes and shatters, and you can hear a faint hissing, as if something very large and very angry is moving along the various pathways."

Hey folks,

Today's track is a custom commissions for one of my patreon supporters, LoneWolf, who needed a specific track for an upcoming encounter with a dimensional serpent in their campaign. 

The party will be exploring an area full of resonant crystals that chime like tuning forks every time reality shifts into a different matrix of semi-connected demiplanes. The area has a maze-like quality, with bridges between various "dimensional pockets" only visible to those who have magic items made from the serpent, and so there's a somewhat real risk of getting stuck while puzzling out the mystery or getting split up involuntarily. LoneWolf suggested inspiration could come from crystals, tuning forks, soft blue glowing energy that both "whines" and "thrums", and the slithering sense of getting ever-closer to the lair of a massive serpent.

Very cool brief to work to, and I'm pretty happy with the result!

Alternate Versions

Bard Tier supporters have two alternate versions to choose from:

- Strings: A version of the track with a more traditional orchestral feel, though still with an unsettling, otherworldly quality

- Mystery: This one is much more subtle, more ambient and ambiguous. This one is my favourite!
