LOL this was a wild one. I brought up the BTK thing to Tay after I watched this, he was a total nut.

2024-08-14 04:43:59 +0000 UTCI used to have that problem too :D For years I watched them like crazy but ended up becoming a bit fed up with them because my interest shifted more towards unresolved cases and most documentaries tend to favour solved cases. So nowadays I'm obsessed with podcasts which cover unsolved cases and books and doing my own research online. I hardly watch the documentaries anymore.

2024-08-11 02:02:24 +0000 UTCOooh I found this one so creepy when I was younger and it's still one of my favourites 😁 great reaction too, I love hearing your thoughts as we go along Josh. I can't wait for the next one. Rewatching these and seeing how into it you get is even better than I thought it would be, it was worth waiting for :) Ha I knew you were talking about BTK as soon as you started. I'm into the same shit as Tay 😅 I love how that freak got caught through his own stupidity and arrogance, he really thought the police wouldn't dare lie to HIM 😂

2024-08-10 14:08:00 +0000 UTCThis is a brilliant episode and for me, the strongest episode of the series so far. There are a couple of other puzzles alongside the main one, and we have the guest appearances of a young Nicola Walker (who has gone on to be one of the UK's finest TV actresses in a similar trajectory to Olivia Colman) and of course, the superb Brian Murphy who was just hilarious here. David Renwick likes killing him off doesn't he? First in One Foot in the Grave and then Jonathan Creek! Caesar salad traditionally has anchovies in it I have always thought but some people may not include them. I love anchovies so all good with me. Some lovely croutons, parmesan cheese, add chicken, and perfect! 🍽🙏 Certainly a pretty standard dish in the UK but perhaps not in the US? Next week's episode is a Christmas Special (which just means it was broadcast at Christmas) between series 2 and 3. The episode is called Black Canary if it's not listed with the series episodes, Josh, and there's definitely a face in it you'll recognise! It's a great episode - look forward to it! 🙂

2024-08-10 12:17:07 +0000 UTCA traditional caesar salad can be made with whole anchovies, but most bottled caesar dressings contains anchovy too, so you might've already tried it without knowing!

2024-08-10 05:02:36 +0000 UTCRight up there as one of the best episodes. This is actually the second time that the writer, David Renwick, killed off Brian Murphy (who played the Detective Inspector), as he also played the suicidal Mr Foskett in the One Foot In The Grave Christmas special The Man Who Blew Away, and came to a sticky end there too. Can only assume Renwick needed someone at short notice who could die in everything, and Sean Bean was unavailable... The joke about Faye's tongue sticking out when she ate was a real-life inspiration from when Renwick went to America to discuss a US remake of One Foot In The Grave, and the wife of the producer he met in Hollywood did exactly that during a meal. It might even have been the same Stateside trip when he discovered the Kentucky lakeside settlement called Jonathan Creek, which is how the character and the show got their name: https://gocrossings.org/locations/jonathan-creek/ And yes, next episode should be the 1998 Christmas special Black Canary, another cracker with a much-loved and much-missed guest star.
