Back to school update

Hey everyone,

I hope you all had a good summer. Mine did not go as planned. I guess after I took my finals my body noticed that I wasn't pushing myself anymore and decided to release all of the pent up pain and stress I'd been ignoring to get through my prerequisite courses at once. So for the first week-and-a-half or so, I was just out of commission. Then PMS happened... (I still don't have meds, btw)

I've been playing catch-up with housework and I've had to basically constantly harass my health insurance provider to, y'know, provide. They're playing games and I'm considering taking legal action at this point.

I planned on creating a lot more art but between feeling like garbage most of the time and having the hardest time sketching the two commissions I took, I didn't get much out of my arthritis-riddled fingers. Speaking of which, I will take no more commissions after my next piece. I'm just not going to have the time. If I do, it's going to be limited to commissions from friends only.

I will also stop taking Patreon donations after this month. Not because I will stop drawing, I'm not planning on stopping, but because I don't know how many fully finished art pieces I can guarantee each month now that my major proper has started. I know I will have a job as soon as I graduate, too, so it's not like I'll have all the time in the world to draw after I finish school. To those of you who have donated, I really truly appreciate your support over the years!

That's basically it for now.

Comments

I appreciate it a lot! For me, the PayPal and tax thing plays a role too. I make just enough in donations that I have to declare it and next year that's going to make things complicated. I've slowly been losing backers, which is understandable.

I think Patreon has (or used to have) an option to charge per piece, rather than trying to guarantee a certain amount of work every month. I feel your work is worth supporting, even if a busy life means you’ll be doing less of it.
