Fallen Máni: Jötunn

Hati stared at the sea.

He loved it. He loved it so very much.

No longer bound to his fate, he could stare at the rejuvenated waves of the Atlantic, at the flocks of terns flying abound.

Beneath the waves, his uncle coiled and churned the waters.

"Good tidings, nephew" Jörmungandr whispered, his voice the waves themselves.

Hati groaned. His uncle loved that pun.

"Good tidings to you, my uncle."

"I am glad you are finally free. Seeing you stare with so much hatred was a burden in and of itself."

"You were asleep when the Moon was gone."

"All the more reason why it was a burden."

Hati groaned again, but couldn't help but smirk at his uncle's silliness.

"Well, hope you have a good day" Jörmungandr said, "I must returns to the depths."

"Fare well, uncle."

And so the great serpent sunk.

Above, the night ended and day rose. Still wounded in the chest, he hissed as Hati laughed at his predicament, and paid the wolf no further mind.

A laughter followed his, albeit edgier and nastier.

"Ah, to think he once thought of us as tools."

Flesh ripped and bones cracked as Sköll changed from man to wolf once again.

"And you, still staring at the sea."

"Hello to you to, brother."

"So zen. I like it."

Hati groaned, not really in the mood for Sköll's play.

"Now that's the grumpiness I know and love."

Sköll nuzzled against his brother, only for Hati to walk away.

He galloped into the sky, and for a moment saw Máni.

And joined him, riding together in the sky as Manuel returned home.
