2022-06-16 17:22:58 +0000 UTCThe wank joke is the one that stands out for me….bloody fantastic! But the whole script for VoD is so cleverly written. I feel so privileged that we have such wonderful Christmas specials, and every lead up to Christmas they are all on tv every year. It’s part of what makes Christmas, well…. Christmas! All these shows, like The Royle Family, Gavin and Stacey, etc. I love that your favourite lines Ash are the same as mine. The taxi, the Brussels sprout being forced into her lips, the Irish tart, the DOES SHE?!!!!!! Haha. I have been very lucky to visit Turville, the village where this is filmed, and it is beautiful. The next Christmas special has a bit of drunkenness and I, of course, had to do an impression when I went into the church (it was just me and my Mum in there!).

The kids were singing, as follows (you seemed a little nonplussed at the joke): While shepherds watched their flocks by night All seated on a bank GERALDINE (knowing where this is going) Oh dear! The angel of the Lord came down And taught them how to w..... GERLALDINE: MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!!!!!!! Kids were going to say "wank" - in other words, "masturbate". A silly joke, but more just alarming that the children have been taught such a "rude" version of that particular Christmas carol. I love Alice's sister and mum - very funny scenes. Geraldine's "Yes, over my dead body." delivered so dryly by Dawn is great. :D Other great lines for me: "Oh, I hope it's not another Scottish sadist and his Irish tart....." "Yes, Eeeee-whatever!" "DOES SHE?????? DOES SSSSSHHHHEEEEEEE??????" "I'm all ears! Well not, all ears, obviously! I'm ears and eyes, and nose and lots of other parts, some you should only ever let a doctor see.......only he wasn't a doctor and he got arrested soon after." Hahahahaha! Delivered brilliantly by Emma. The taxi gag where she's literally driven about 10 metres down the road made me smile. It's not necessarily the sharpest, most edgy show, but I enjoy its cuteness and zaniness. :-D
