Stuff I've been doing lately

Bebecake finished the portraits for Charlene and, more recently, Adivia. Here's a couple samples from their expressions: https://i.imgur.com/OmgCmJQ.png

Bebe is now working on another character as well. I think it's almost done, but just waiting on the other expressions. Hopefully it won't be long before we can start on yet another character. There's only about 10 more really important characters left, so at least an end is in sight for the character portraits. xD

I am hopeful that Bebe will want to switch gears at that point and start working on the animations, but if not then we'll see what happens. There's plenty of time in the meantime to look into alternatives for the pixel/sprite animations.

Sorry to say that I am still lacking the motivation that I need to really dig into working on FSA. Please don't mistake this for me quitting or giving up though. Commissions are still going on, and every game I play I am always thinking about FSA and how I can use these new experiences to improve FSA if there is something, anything at all that can be applied.

In recent months I have played Kenshi, Chasm, Blasphemous, Monster Hunter World, and maybe a few others. Kenshi is basically an RTS walking simulator. It has a lot of interesting elements, but at the same time there is also never really anything engaging or exciting that makes you feel motivated to search out new locations. I feel like the game would heavily benefit from a smaller world with more interesting things to do and more meaningful gameplay. It's like a cool tech demo that shows you the potential of something that could be a great game, but never will be. Hopefully they will do better with Kenshi 2. In the meantime I would recommend grabbing the first one for around $10 or less, if it's ever in that price range.

I can elaborate on the other games I've played too if anyone is interested, but I probably already bored you with Kenshi. xD

More recently I decided to think about possibly including a cooking system in FSA, well as more types of fish. I'm not really sure how/if the fishing system should change much. I would like to know if anyone would be interested in a fishing minigame? I can't help but think that something which is less involved, but also strategic, would be better for FSA. Something that's not too distracting, but at the same time the player could invest some time and strategy into it, in order to get the most benefits from fishing. Something to think about.

I'm also still studying the elements of a sim brothel type of game, but moreso the AI involved and player motivation. I guess you could say I am trying to study my own motivations, as a player. What drives you to do actions in said game? Is this meaningful gameplay or just the desire/need to unlock everything? What makes Girl X more special than Girl Y, and what motivates you to want to get lucky with X, Y, or even both? Also, after that, what motivation does the game give you to go at it again? Do you just skip through the dialogue and just do it for the numbers? Are those numbers meaningful? Is the dialogue special or fun? Even if it is, it tends to lose its charm after reading it for the 100th time. What would be a good alternative?

Well I'm sure you're tired of my ramblings. xD
Hopefully I will post more often. I miss the days when I was doing constant updates on FSA. Not sure what went wrong but I wish things hadn't changed.

Thanks for reading, and thanks also for your continued support. <3
