What's been happening in April?
Added 2019-04-29 18:35:38 +0000 UTCSorry I haven't been posting much on Patreon. I post rather frequently on Discord about what I'm doing, but in doing so I tend to forget to post about all that on Patreon. >.>;
I've been waiting on a couple new sprite artists. Hopefully they can both start work on my stuff soon. If everything goes well, then progress should really start picking up! In the meantime I've been working a lot on Phase 1 & 2 (Necropolis, etc.. and Temple).
Also, here's Bebe's version of Nasira's portrait, and how she'll appear in the game now: https://i.imgur.com/WdvwGCF.png (along with 7 other expressions).
For Necropolis I have all the level layouts finished, secret passages, treasures, 2 of the 3 monster groups done, and the stats for the 3rd monster group is ready but I need the sprite for the monster before I can fully implement it. I've also added 2 of the 3 bosses, as well as a special event/boss fight. The 3rd boss fight, like the 3rd monster group, needs a special sprite as you might have guessed. I may look into making this one myself, if I can find an appropriate sprite to use as a starting point. I'm just not sure how to approach this just yet.
I also have the layout, secret passages, treasures, and monster stats for the Coliseum finished. I need to work on a story element, but otherwise I need a LOT of sprites to finish up the Coliseum.
The Hollows is a similar case, although I've implemented the boss fights BUT they are using placeholder sprites.
Being at a standstill on these I've started working on a special event/boss fight in the Temple. I won't need a sprite for that one. The area layout is done, but I still need to add the dialogue and various other event stuff.
Oh! I also got a new concept piece for Sakina: https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/557872204633735168/564895232756416532/vampyre1.jpg
I've lined up a couple others for Bebe to work on before she gets to Sakina though, and I might even want to commission all the kids' portraits before Sakina's. Really looking forward to seeing them all. :)
