Hey Josh, would you still have the link to this documentary? I can’t find it anywhere online

AWR93

Can't tell you how much I've enjoyed watching every episode with you - it's been amazing. Great to see you enjoying such a British classic. I can watch every episode again and again and never get bored. I love the ending - great to have so many things wrapped up including Rodney finding out who his real dad is. Glad you enjoyed it mate.

will we see rock and chips its a spin off to only fools and horses

Peter Hutchinson

Gareth Gwenlan who features in this was one of the people that originally rejected Red Dwarf, so gwenlan was one of their early insults “you’re a total gwenlan, you know that Kryten”. I think there’s also a reference in the end credits of Androids in the Kryten episode

Kieran B

Farewell John challis. Thanks for the laughs and your laugh. Ice t made a tribute to John Challis ( challis was a big fan of Ice T. They became very good online friends ) : https://mobile.twitter.com/FINALLEVEL/status/1439602799382351877

Rip John Challis, absolute legend

Rip John Challis

OutlawStar

Yeah just seen Boycey has died

Mike Doel

WOW, just seen this! Didn't expect that at all.

antlermagick

Unfortunately John Challis (Boyce) sadly passed away today

This was from 2002.

BertFredStan

I haven’t seen this since 1996. I think it was shown just before or just after the episode where they become millionaires. There’s another documentary series from a couple of years ago which I could only find on a Russian website.

Philip

cant believe i only just remembered this but the actor that plays denzel actually lives near me and played in a band with my driving instructors husband (ive never met him though)

I may be in the minority, but the chandelier and the bar falling scenes are far from being the funniest in my eyes. Sure, they're funny but there were much funnier moments for me. In the bar scene alone, Trigger saying "I found one of those old £5 notes the other day" had me laughing much more than the fall.

I agree man it is so disappointing.

After Work Reactions

Thanks bud I will check it out for sure.

Citizen smith (that you mentioned we havent mentioned) starring Robert Lyndsey - you might recognise that actor from Extras - he's the one who's annoyed that the sick kid doesnt know who he is

mwdoom

I was gonna say. There’s a ton of great makings of and behind the scenes documentary’s. Hopefully you react to them. All add to the story. Thanks can’t wait to see what’s next

Jonathan Giles

This was great Josh first time I've seen it too, so much I didn't know and learnt from this documentary and filled the Friday evening slot nicely..... a happy patreon

Andrew G

Yeah I’ve always wondered why Paul barber isn’t in these

Joe S

It seems that Paul Barber (Denzil) doesn’t appear in any of these OFAH documentaries for some reason but he has appeared at some of the conventions. I actually have a story about him, he’s a massive vinyl freak (like myself) and has been a customer of a well known second hand vinyl shop in Birmingham for many years, even though he lives in a different part of the country as they send most of it by post but he does occasionally visit the shop. One time he came into the shop with a gift for them….it was a huge artists painting of the Fools & Horses cast all lined up at the bar at the Nag’s Head and he personally signed it for the shop. So he’s obviously proud of the show. This was about 15 years ago and they still have it on the wall! Met John Challis (Boycie) as well some years back at a book signing and he was very pleasant. Though he’s not doing too well these days having very recently cancelled a tour for health reasons. Since this documentary was made both John Sullivan and Roger Lloyd Pack (Trigger) have passed on. It doesn’t end here though, if Rock & Chips appears in the poll I’ll certainly be voting for that (it was the last thing John Sullivan wrote before he passed), and a few have mentioned The Green Green Grass (Boycie and Marlene’s spin off) but I agree with others that it’s not as good. Thanks again for the ride Josh!

Ben Marshall

Nice one Josh. Thank you for all of your reactions to this brilliant programme. I've looked forward to every Friday evening the last year or so to tune in for these so I'm gutted it's finished. It's been great seeing you get more and more into OFAH as time went on :) I knew it would be the first thing that properly got the tears flowing. Yep it was a shame Denzil wasn't in the documentary, I was thinking that too. I hope you will check out a couple of the other documentaries at some point too (I just don't want this to be the last OFAH thing on here lol;) And thanks for not talking too much during it. That's one of the (many) things that makes your reaction videos the best IMO - if you do speak during a reaction you do it quickly and over a quiet part or you briefly pause so you don't miss anything and then wrap it up with your thoughts at the end. Which I always enjoy hearing. You've got the balance just right 👌 Some reactors I've seen just talk right over the next joke and it's so annoying lol. Cheers Josh.

BelladonnicHazeyJaneII

Get Josh to meet Boycie and Marlene 😂

AWR93

Bro it's not in the same galaxy as ofah if u think it's as good you're deluded

Stu 79

Yes was actually John Sullivans first choice that he wanted

Such an amazing show. It's one of those that will never get old. The comedy and characters are just timeless. The magic is you can dip in and out when you want. When I'm feeling down I'll always stick on an OFAH episode to cheer myself up, It's been fantastic watching your journey with the show Josh and you never know, you may end up at one of the conventions over here at some point!

one of the people pitched to play Del before David Jason was Jim Broadbent who would later play Roy Slater.

JokerDanny

Also, now watched it, I never even clocked onto the table changing and why.

Ryan Lynch

I agree with your point on The Matrix which is why I'm disappointed they have cast someone else as Morpheus in the new film. Lawrence Fishburne is Morpheus.

will doyle

As others have said this was in 2002, just before the second to last episode. There’s a 6 part documentary from 2017 I believe which is a lot more detailed. Should definitely react to that too

Joe S

You should react to John Sullivan's OFAH spin off show The Green Green Grass starring Boycie and Marlene next. It is just as enjoyable.

That’s not what was being said at all. The reacting to what's just been said halfway through a sentence would have been written in that way. It may have just said "Reacts", but the actual gag of breaking midway through a sentence is quite a specific gag and timing. It wouldn't have been played out like that without having been written like that.

BertFredStan

Throughout the whole series, almost every episode, you will always get a line where someone says something funny or cheeky or stupid, the other person starts talking... but then realises what has been said and reacts back halfway through their own sentence. This is the first time I realise that it was just "React" written in script, instead of an actual stage direction. And the fact that it all came from John Sullivan taking "camera scripts" and thinking that's how you write is brilliant .

Ryan Lynch

Or David Jason presents the top 20 OFAH episodes voted by the public.

AWR93

you should watch the 6 part documentary aswell, they actually show outtakes and behind the scenes footage in that.

JokerDanny

John Sullivan - absolute genius!
