Let's Pick Some Good Movies Folks

Hey, folks hopefully all is well. I would really appreciate some good movie recommendations, It can be any genre I am down for whatever. After this post reaches a decent amount of suggestions I will turn your suggestions into a poll and we will vote. My goal is to react to all of your movie suggestions, I will start with the highest voted and work my way down the list Thanks so much to all who participate it means a ton!!!

Movie suggestions only, please :-).

Just a heads up for the moment the movies won't be uploaded on a schedule because of how packed my schedule is already. For now, I am shooting for once a month uploads and I will attempt to squeeze in more as I go.

You might be asking why are you doing it if you don't have time? The answer is because its something I have wanted to do since the channel was started and I have to start somewhere. Monty Python and The Holy Grail was my first go and I really enjoyed it. Even if I record them in two or three sittings its a start lol.

I hope your Happy, Safe, and Healthy have a great weekend !!

Hey, new Patreon here. I've seen it recommended once before here, but Withnail And I is IMO the greatest British comedy of all time. It also has the greatest comic performance by anyone ever, with Richard E Grant playing Withnail. It's absolutely hilarious, with endless iconic scenes, all while being a slightly melancholy meditation on friendship and how people drift apart.

Saul

This is what I wanted to say. NEXUS is correct. Life of Brian is going to top the poll, no doubt. Do it NOW, avoid a second poll. ;-)

Tony Smyth

That was meant to say any of the inbetweeners movie's aswell.

Fred bates

Kevin and Perry go large is funny any of the employees movies.

Fred bates

Kingsman: The Secret Service

Josh B

Dirty Rotten Scoundrels.

Josh B

Bean (1997)

Josh B

Mr Beans Holiday.

Josh B

I don't know what you have seen in what you haven't seen then if you haven't seen it I would recommend the shawshank redemption

Fred bates

Surely the life of Brian as you already did a monty python film. The life of Brian is even better and will make you laugh as i know you find religion a crazy concept and this film rips how stupid some religions are apart.

NEXUS

Karl Pilkingtons favourite movie "The Elephant Man" from (1980) directed by David Lynch

Liam

Four Lions or The Brothers Grimsby :)

Tony Smyth

It's the only movie you have to watch at least twice.

Tony Smyth

Life of Brian & Trainspotting ;)

David Jones

You can't go wrong with the Owen Wilson Vince Vaughn combo The Internship and Wedding Crashers Couples Retreat is also a hilarious film

The Full Monty.

Connie Owen-Holloway

Definitely Life of Brian. I'd also say Coming to America. Love that film so much. And the Naked Gun movies, if you haven't seen them. I like to use those films to judge people's taste in comedy. If they like those I figure they should like the same kinda comedy as me hah

Danny

Four Lions, Hot Fuzz, What We Do In The Shadows

Calvin Clayton

Life of Brian. Brothers grimsby. Blazing saddles. Flash Gordon. Weekend at bernies. All great movies

The first half of Guest House Paradiso is hilarious. I would skip the Bottom Live shows though. they are very passable.

Luke Barron

Chicken Run :D

Mitchell Gallagher

Bro it's gotta be HOT FUZZ or Shaun of the Dead

Michael

Maybe some Bottom Live for that feature length Bottom experience. The live shows are better than the movie but the movie is ok too.

Christopher John Williams

Hey Josh, Alan Partridge: Alpha Papa is funny as fuck. It's a bite sized chunk of Alan Partridge that will introduce you to the character properly without needing to know the full back story (which is extensive).

Steve Small

Shaun of the Dead if you haven't already seen it is very funny.

Luke Barron

Life of Brian is imo better than The Holy Grail.

Luke Barron

Attack the Block Boondock Saints Clerks Dead Men Don’t Wear Plaid Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind Idiocracy LA Confidential Leon Life of Brian Lucky Number Slevin Shoot ‘Em Up Smokin’ Aces Stranger Than Fiction Thank You For Smoking The Thomas Crown Affair (1999) Tucker & Dale vs Evil UHF

Tom Wilson

Hot fuzz

Wattana

Borat, Kevin and Perry go large, Johnny English, The brothers Grimsby... purely for THAT scene! The Brothers Grimsby elephant scene would be an awesome one to react to if you wasn't planning on watching the film. I think it would be a crying lol one for you if you’ve not seen it.

Would have to be the inbetweeners movies bro now the series is nearly done 👍

Dan

The Descent

Time Bandits

Anthony

Attack the Block. Underrated gem. It won't win first time around but worth keeping on the list, it's a British take on 80s Spielberg sci fi. Features a young John Boyega. The guy who wrote it went on to do the (Marvel)Antman screenplay

Mike B

The Jerk, Classic film. The best opening monologue to any movie "I was born a poor black child...."

Rob Weetman

Snatch.

Mike B

Tucker and Dale is a great shout a great spin on the lost in the woods films.

Rob Weetman

Yes.

Mike B

Inbetweeners movie 1+2 / The brothers Grimsby

Scott Rees

If we're talking best of British films - he's got to start with Trainspotting.

Lionhunter

Life of Brian, Four Lions, What we do in the Shadows, Young Frankenstein, The Jerk, A Fish called Wanda, Withnail and I and Blazing Saddles. Should keep you going for a while.

Nigel Hammond

Obviously Monty Python and the life of Brian is an obvious one (and my favourite MP work!), as are the Inbetweeners films. Besides them, I’d echo the Cornetto Trilogy sentiment in these comments ( 1) Shaun of the Dead 2) Hot Fuzz 3) The World’s End). Some others I’d also recommend are Jack Black’s Year One, Kingsman: the Secret Service, or if maybe Austin Powers? Dunno how many of those you have or haven’t seen, and some have specific taste (ex: Kingsman is best if you’ve seen at least one bond film, but honestly it’s good without, Austin Powers is something people either love or hate, and Year One is probably not enjoyable if you’re not fond of Jack Black and his style of comedy!).

The Kernowyon Penguin

Office Space The Princess Bride

Emer Mc Donagh

They're in the 'movies' section on Netflix but I apologise if it's not the sort of thing you're looking for on this post :)

Tom Merson

The Truman show? If u haven’t already seen it

Zion Marshall

+1 for Shaun of the Dead

bobby g

Hot fuzz, the inbetweeners movie and four lions 🎥 🎬 🎞

PoPaDoMZz

I agree with the suggestions of Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, The Worlds End. And the Italian Job (the original one) And my own choice would be Withnail & I. I love that film :) Looking forward to your film reactions.

BelladonnicHazeyJaneII

Shaun of the Dead Hot Fuzz The Worlds End If I had to choose one itd be Hot Fuzz but all three are connected Simon Pegg/Nick Frost/Edgar Wright films (The Cornetto Trilogy)

Michael Harrop

Please watch The Life of Brian

arny

Bruno

Samuel Coghlan-White

“Life of Brian” or “tucker and dale vs evil“

Dylan Jacobs

I think Four Lions would be a great film to react to

Jason Rusby

Definitely Hot Fuzz - I think it's my favourite movie ever!

Alex P

...or the original "The Italian Job"!

Manly Stump

Inbetweeners or four lions?

Jake Harrison

Also, although they're not technically movies, I'd love to see you watch the four hour-long James Acaster specials on Netflix

Tom Merson

Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels and Snatch

Manly Stump

The Shawshank Redemption

jack

Sideways!

Darrell Pringle

You’ve bound to have seen them already, but the Naked Gun trilogy..love those films!!

Lee Williams

Monty Python's Life of Brian is definitely my number one pick, been hoping for that one since you watched the Holy Grail. Other than that, here are a few I reckon you might enjoy: - Ali G Indahouse and Borat (both Sacha Baron Cohen movies) - This is Spinal Tap - Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story

Tom Merson

The Life of Brian, Spinal Tap, Hot Fuzz, Shaun of the Dead, and if you haven't seen Blazing Saddles then its a crime as it is a masterclass in all things comedy (possibly the funniest movie of all time).

Rob Weetman

Wow, where to start! This will take some thinking!

Dave Barratt

Life of Brian, Four Lions, Team America, Drop Dead Fred, Hot Fuzz, Blazing Saddles, Borat, Snatch, Lock Stock And Two Smoking Barrels, As Good As It Gets

Trev

Straight classics all of them 🔥

Michael H

Inbetweeners 1 & 2 also Bad Education

Bob

Hot Fuzz!

Ashley R

Rob Sheppard

I would strongly recommend the Cornetto trilogy from Edgar Wright / Simon Pegg, since you like British humour... 1. Shaun of the dead 2. Hot Fuzz 3. World's End

Mike Edwards
