Need To Name A Couple Wolves

I have a pair of wolves that are referenced and have been “WOLF1” and “WOLF2” in my script for months now. Right now, they’re just mentioned in passing but who knows, maybe one day they’ll make an appearance as they become cannon. But, for right now, they need names!

If you’ve got a suggestion, feel free to throw it in the comments and I’ll put together a poll next week with the suggestions I think fit the story best, and aren’t too similar to other names (present and anyone showing up in the future.)

Rules to the wolf naming nomenclature:

#1 Single word names

Not looking for any compound word names (ie like Snowpaw or Coldwind.) Two reasons, I just don’t think wolves run into enough other wolves that they need more complex names to keep everyone straight. Second, no shade to Warrior Cats, but I don’t want to follow the same convention.

#2 Wolf/Predator related

I am open to plant centric names, but I don’t want to be too “prey” because most the prey animals are named for plants, ala Watership Down. Think about ‘active’ names wolves might earn, something they could be known for then called after.

#3 Nothing Anachronistic

Nothing a neolithic age wolf from the Black Hills/grasslands of South Dakota wouldn’t be tangentially aware of (ie, Razor or Bullet or Banana.)
