Im pretty sure it was cus toji had a pact with the curse spirit so the spirit already had an owner and thats why geto couldnt absorb it

Geto stopped him saying that for jujutsu sorcerers there is a point in not killing non-sorcerers which is something really ironic knowing how Geto will evolve
