2023-11-28 01:45:31 +0000 UTCYa’ll give Gary Gygax way too much credit. Dave Arneson was the creative mastermind behind D&D, giving it the heart and soul of role playing! Gygax was good at the mechanics, he first started out with war games but had absolutely zero heart and soul that he brought to the table. He took it to popularity and was a good business man but ended up ousting his friend. I knew Dave a little, my dad knew him better and worked with him, so it makes me so sad to hear Gygax being credited for everything when Dave did so much to transform their love of war gaming into role laying individual characters.
