2024-12-23 21:31:05 +0000 UTCIn the books, Tywin and Arya never met like they did here, the TV series mainly did this to flesh out them both as characters, so they couldn't have her staying with him. That said, him leaving her with The Mountain shows that even if he liked her, she's ultimately disposable to him, as The Mountain has a reputation for killing his servants, and even his wives have ended up dead under "suspicious circumstances". His introduction at the tournament pretty much shows how well he controls his temper. And this shows how Tywin doesn't really have emotional connections with anyone, he's purely focused on the ascendancy of his house.

Mind you, Yara was right; taking a massive stronghold is one thing, but maintaining and defending it is another, especially if you've given The North the idea that Bran and Rickon are allegedly dead. She was also trying to impart wisdom unto Theon, but he's too obsessed with getting approval from his father. I did start to like Yara here, because she does care. I hate Theon, but I do understand him. Qhorin is such a legend; he's pissed at Jon, but he did genuinely understand why Jon did not kill Ygritte. I love Ros; she knew what was going on and played along with Tyrion. As if the poor woman hasn't suffered enough.
