Especially in a mecha anime, I like that. Having technical explanations give it a much more realistic feel.

The use of Dividing Driver to open the cloud and expel the air is an example of how GGG does things, using tools/abilities outside their intended use.

Fun fact: Guy earned his Astronaut License at 18 years of age in 2003 in series. IRL, Alyssa Carlson became the Youngest Astronaught in the late 2010's/early 2020's to go to Space. Apparently, it's hard as shit to do so, as you need to a masters degree in a scientific field to do so and to have taken part in extensive, several hundred hours worth of flight simulations. For her, and Gai to achieve this, they would have to be studying their asses off their entire lives, sacrificing a good chunk of their childhood and teen years and devoting their a good chink of their late teens to said flight simulations.

And this is one of the first big revelations of the series that puts the Zonders plans into context. GaoGaiGar has this nice level of build up were it gradually drops revelations, and eventually, when you get to the end, it all makes sense as what plot threads or aspects were well established.

Also, I can say that the cloud extended at least to the Asakusa district based on familiar points/buildings/structures I saw while staying in Asakusa.

Aye, GaoGaiGar's great at technical details and explaining how things work, how they came to be etc. As a result, it keeps things relatively grounded despite the fantastical elements
