Not only could it be seen as a conflict of interest for a senator to be married to a Jedi but it's also against the Jedi code to get married, which is why if anyone asks they are friends. I feel like a few people know about it and just don't say anything. Obi-Wan definitely knows something is up but like a true bro he keeps his mouth shut. I love those sly looks Obi-Wan is always shooting Anakin whenever people talk about his "close friendship" with Padme. It's also nice to see a Padme episode with no damn Jar Jar for once.
