Dev Update – R4 Progress

R4 is proceeding largely as planned, and I’ll use this post to let you in on what I’ve been working on the last few weeks. There will be some preview screenshots going up on the discord of the systems I’m going to talk about, so make sure to check them out!

Also a big welcome to everyone signing up. For those of you that are unaware, L&V is now available to play online on some websites, I’ll include links to these in the download section of the discord if you are interested. I’ll reiterate for any new supporters that you can find game download links on the discord, details in the pinned post (Important Info).

Daily Tasks

Just as a quick reminder, this is a small mechanic in which you can give Jen a task to do each day. Later catching up with her to get a report on what happened, or you can just let her do it and get the reward passively.

I’ve largely finished this, though I might end up adding some more events to it. Basically as I said, it should function as a passive or active way of getting progress. There’s a small preview of some of the available content on the discord.

This also works a little bit differently than usual. Some of the tasks will have different dialogue depending on if you have her love or lewd higher. I thought it might be neat given that she’s acting more independently, you could see how your actions change her.

Club Expansion

As I mentioned previously, I wanted to expand the club into an actual place you could enjoy beyond work. I’ve implemented this as a VIP room upgrade you can buy as the manager, which will unlock having some fun with the strippers. Some sneak peaks on the discord.

R4 will have one stripper available, with 4 possible sets of actions to take. This got a little out of hand honestly, but I think it’s turned out pretty well. More girls to be added here over time, and as the club gets more upgrades I’ll expand what each one is willing to do. Bring a lot of money!

Just as a side note, there’s some new Jen content for the club. New morale events and with the MC, already done and ready to go.

Office Content – Change of Plans

I mentioned in the R4 plans that there would be some new office content, but I’ve decided to hold off for now. As others have noticed, the office content is falling behind a little. This is understandable given that the club is just inherently more lewd content compatible, but I had a nice idea that might go some way to closing the gap.

I won’t talk about it until I know it’s a thing, and to be quite honest it might be a long way off. I still have the Mel equivalent character to consider with this as well, and I might need to implement this new idea alongside or after them. There’s a bunch of planning I’d have to do to make this all work together, but there’s little time for it within the R4 development cycle. So consider it on hold for the time being, including Jen’s content there as I want to involve her in the story.

Looking Forward

Things are progressing decently. I’m currently working on the story content I promised, and the smaller events leading up to it. After that I have some misc events to do, the mystery system and the new character intro.

I can’t give a concrete date for the release yet, but I’d like to have it out within a month of now. Ambitious perhaps, but I’ll keep you posted.
