Reviews Like These Bum Me Out A Little

For the record, I don't pad my stories. I never have a problem hitting 30,000 words on a story (usually quite the reverse.) Both of the above stories were intended to be 30,000 words and wound up being 40,000 or more. If I could have just stopped at 30k, I would have happily done so--my business model is based around writing as many 30k-word stories as possible, as fast as possible. I do the best that I can to cut any extraneous 'repetition,' (it takes me a whole day to edit one of my stories, and sometimes more) but I like wordy descriptions and a certain degree of repetition--it makes writing feel good and juicy to me--especially when it's something sexy.
It just bums me out, sometimes, getting reviews like these. Like, if you dislike what happens IN the story, I get that. Not everyone likes the same stuff. Dislike the way I stretch stories over multiple installments? I get that, too. I wish I was wealthy enough to just write a story as long as it took to finish and then publish it all at once. But the way I write (like, the way I craft my prose) is the way I write--I have over 60 books out now. It really shouldn't be a surprise anymore when you open one of my books and get inundated with lots of florid description.
Kinda sucks the wind out of my sails, a little bit. I work super hard (like six-seven days a week, eight or more hours a day) to try and turn out high-quality content for people, and between getting downvoted to zero (or negative numbers even) on Reddit and reviews like these, some days it's harder to get up the motivation to keep doing it than others.
Just needed to gripe a little bit.
